Everton is claiming to have signed Brian McBride on a three-month loan (specifically until he is due back in Columbus to start the MLS season).

This is a good deal for McBride - if he actually plays. Joe-Max Moore got hardly any playing time at Everton. However, David Moyes, the Everton coach, was McBride's coach at Preston until McBride got kicked under the armpit and suffered that serious blood clot. So maybe Moyes intends to play McBride. I hope so.

    Thoughts?

He'll play a few games, maybe actually start the games. Then he'll become a second half sub. Then he'll just ride the pine like Joe Max did. How many american's actually start games in the EPL? Reyna, Freidel, and Keller right? No one else. Many, I think, are second half subs if they're lucky.

Huh? I believe the only other American in the EPL right now is Jovan Kirovski, who is starting of late for Birmingham. Any other Americans in the EPL?

Let's see. That's four Americans in the EPL who are (or in Reyna's case "was") ALL first-team!

I would expect to see him on the subs bench since Rooney is banned through the end of January. Where he goes from there is dependent on his play. Moyes would like to buy him and if Everton is still in the running for European play come the start of the MLS season he would probably have the cash to do so.

Everton have a few injuries and i guess Brian McBride might be used as a temporary striker to act as a Duncan Ferguson, where if the game isn't going to plan he will be the target man where they can hoof the ball up field. At least he will be fit for the start of the MLS season!
