Do not read if you're recording the Chelsea - Fulham game! Barely got in the door from grocery shopping and saw McBride take a 2% chance and stick it in the Chelsea net I miss him, I miss the willingness to try to put away any chance.
Sky rated him a NINE and said, simply: "Superb" It was classic BMB: almost had another, drew a penalty, worked like a Trojan. Holding, dishing, dummy runs, winning it in the air over and over. Anyone who thinks he's not the USA starter in Gemrany is an idiot beyond redemption, and not worth the effort to argue with. That dickbag Mourinho told the BBC that he felt McBride "dove" in the box for the PK. Loser.
Fortunately, I can't see McBride worrying too much about what a whining Mourinho has to say. God knows I dont..
Although there was a bit of contact by.....I believe it was Joe Cole, the McBride penalty was a dive......that said, Mourinho is still a wanker, and McBride is still MISSED in Columbus.
McBride dives the way Mourinho is a good loser. Great performance from McB. He looked great, was getting in there and taking lumps (He'd just come back on the field after treatment for cut on the face), and he was hungry for goals. If he isn't on the WC squad, Bruce better have a hellish good explanation.
Dear "newbie" calderon: I am out of rep at the moment. When it resets, rest assured that your ass is taking a big mother-fooking hit. In the meantime, would some of you help a brother out? Nobody comes on the fookin Crew board and calls McBride a diver, Mango.
Gotcha covered. Anyone that has watched McBride play throughout the years knows that he is the furthest thing from a diver...
Rep taken.....stick by the post, as I saw the game. Huge McBride fan, but I'll tell it like it is.....Crewfan and all.
At least he took his negative rep like a man, and that says something. I know this guy from another forum. He'll work out eventually.
With all due respect, you "know" a guy with three posts, two of them in this very thread? Man, that third post must have been a doozy.
I am curious how having Joe Cole run up your back can make anybody believe that that was a dive? A bit of contact? It was a stupid foul, McBride's angle was cut down, Cole should have backed off, but to say McBride dove, and you call yourself a McBride fan?
Sorry, Bill, but yes: I know this guy from another forum. He uses the same name. He's a pretty good guy that occasionally puts his foot in his mouth. He didn't call McBride a diver, he said that in his opinion while watching the game Brian may have played that particular bit up a little. I don't believe it, but that's what he was trying to say.
In real time the play looked like a PK and that's all that matters regardless of what Mourinho thinks. But they showed a replay from up front and I slow motioned it. McBride starts falling before Cole's leg comes around. Either he tripped on something (or got tangled up) or he realized that he had no chance of beating Cech from that angle and decided to let himself go when he felt Cole creeping up behind him. In other situations he may have fought through it and gained nothing, but in this game, with a ref that missed the obvious elbow earlier that cut him, he did the right thing. Now, if anyone thinks that McBride dove or cheated, they just need to look at Baros' first goal against Everton. How he can bring the ball down with the arm at a perfect angle to be spotted by the ref AND get away with it is just beyond me. Now, that's cheating Maradona style.
hey, any call that makes d**kbag Mourinho upset is a good call in my book. what does he care, he won the game? all the new Chelski fans better hope Abramovich keeps paying off Putin, b/c should something ever happen to their esteemed oil magnate that club is in a world of hurt. by all accounts, a gutsy game by McBride. performances like that hopefully will shut up all the Landycakes-GAM fallators out there, but unfortunately i think nothing will. well done.
And today (12/28) against Villa: [result]2 more goals for BMB in a 3-3 draw. Fulham also scored on a penalty from Helgusson, but the gamecast didn't mention if Brian had any role in drawing the call.[/result] I am so pumped about the success he is having this year. I guess being a class act for all those years really does pay off. Value of hard work, anybody?
And the funny thing is, McBride does OTHER things that will never show up on a stat sheet. His ability to come back to defend. His ability to make good runs to draw defenders. His ability to possess the ball, and HOLD it. Truly a class act, and someone that all Crew fans should be very proud of.
I remember when BMB first went to Fulham, I was hoping for runs of form like this, mostly to shut up the detractors about how useless he was. Now, i expect these sorts of performances from McBride. Definately the best to wear the Black and Gold, and among the very best American players of all time. How cool is it to look at the EPL goal scoring charts and see this McBride guy up there with Henry and Rooney?
That's a very good point. Magic Simon Elliott, Crew Legend, can only help. I can't wait to get my email from Mike Lapper about the Crew Legends EPL tour package.
One thing that really struck me was that McB looked about 1,000% fitter than he ever looked at the Crew. I'd like to know about Fulham's fitness and conditioning programs, because he looked like a paragon of the big striker.
