    McBride scores in everton debut(r)

McBride Scored in 10th minute after beating an offside trap and then sloting one past fellow YA Kasey Keller. Poyet equalizes a couple minutes later.

wow, that's nice! McBride has worked really hard, and it's been a big dream of his to play EPL. Still, I'm a little wistful, wondering if I'll ever see the day when an English player works as hard and dreams as much to play in MLS.

    Mmmm - not sure.

Very glad to see he scored in his first match, making good use of his first opportunity. I have to wonder if he'll get more starting nods now, rather than just filling in for suspended or injured guys. Brian needs to give them a run for their money and impress the sh!t out of them.

Actually, just read some more detail, and found out had not only the first goal, but the assist on the 3rd goal as well. Very well done!

Brian couldnt be help at fault for any of the goals. The Everton keeper sucked...they had to bring in the backup because the first stringer Wright blew out a knew DURING WARMUPS.

The Fourth goal was a long ball that Stubbs let bounce over his head, and Keane colleced it and scored easily.

Brian was a rock today. Got a little tired in the last 15 or so, but the guy hasnt played since October, remember.

As Bufflo Soldier said in the YA thread...people on the after-match call in shows in Liverpool (Everton is located in Liverpool) are already asking why they don't buy Bake outright. :D

I was lucky enough to be able to see the game this morning . McBride looked very comfortable and not at all phased by the increased speed of the EPL game. He moved very well off the ball and was in a dangerous position to score a number of times. For his first outing with his new club he did very well and I would rate his outing as a 6.5

If he keeps playing the way he did this morning there will be EPL clubs lined up making offers to MLS. He may not be for sale at the moment but if the offer is good enough who knows. The trading window is open ofr three more weeks.

McBride's goal was a beauty. I don't think of "speed" when I think of him but he showed some on that run. I hope he does really well for Everton.

Actually, the keeper was average. Two of his defenders, Yobo and Stubbs were simply pathetic. Stubbs completely botched header gave up the corner that allowed the first 'Spurs goal. Yobo got schooled all day, and his anemic and insanely stupid lunge freed Keane for his second. Then Stubbs total gaffe gave Keane his third. Blame the real culprits, Yobo and Stubbs. They sucked.

Mr Segroves DOES have a rather inflated opinion of himself, doesn't he?

I'm certain his insignificant mewlings are the foremost concern on Brian's mind every waking hour. His beautiful wife, her darling two year old daughter, the baby they're expecting this June, getting to play in England, starring in the world cup, winning the US Open Cup, all probably pale in significance when compared to his concern over Mike Snelgroves. Seagraves. Seegrunts.

    Whatever.

Strange. Meglomaniacal Mango now has a groupie! I thought Mango Mike would be glad to see McB demoing the skills he showed in the WC.

    Hats off to McB!

    Back on subject now ;)

From what I have read on the YA board, some of the call in radio shows after the game in London had Everton supporters asking if the club could obtain McBride on a more "permanent" basis.

Looks like he has made quite an impression!
