Looks like Duncan Ferguson is back to good health and Moyes seeks to employ a youth strategy. Regardless, it's hard to believe McBride will be benched and Everton (or some other club) will not consider a full transfer if 'Bake keeps producing. http://sport.independent.co.uk/football/everton/story.jsp?story=379063
They'd be crazy to bench him...with the form he's in, he's one of the hottest forwards in the EPL....I don't know how may teams would want him, but a lot of teams will....I don't know how that would work...End of MLS season is after the start of the European season...would he leave in the middle of the playoff run or stay will the seasons over?? No one can make a deal for him now becuase the transfer window is closed correct??? -PB20
I admit that I ahve been wrong about McBride's Merseyside adventure so far, but I still think that even if he plays well, but doesn't score for 3 straight games, no matter when that time comes, he's benched. It's unjust and unfortunate, but I'm afraid it's true.
Moyes will definitely start a taget forward in his formation... if you are Moyes, who would u pick? Ferguson Campbell McBride
i disagree - moyes is a supporter from way back and im sure he realizes that BMB doesnt need to make the scoresheet to be productive - a losing streak on the other hand might spur a change oh and a list of EPL teams that IMO would court him if everton doesnt retain somehow- blackburn charlton aston villa fulham bolton - if they stay up
Moyes has a bit of dilemma with Ferguson: Do you play him and have him get injured or do you sit him and keep him healthy? I doubt we'll see McBride finish a game so the question is who does he play for 70 minutes and who for 20? I think McBride will start at least the next game. I'd really like to see him play with Rooney.
here here! yeah... as in 'can i really put this drunken has-been in my lineup?' ps- please dont hit me duncan
McBride has had his trouble with injury, but he seems like Iron Man compared to Campbell and Ferguson
Who knows? Brian McBride's early return to MLS may actually increase his reputation and the reputation of yanks in England. There is nothing in his career to indicate that he can maintain his current scoring pace. Rather than suffer an inevitable decline like Joe Max-Moore, McBride will always be remembered as that great yank that was never given a fair shot. This works for me if it gets more yanks opportunities in the Premiership, but somehow I have my doubts that it will.
Moyes be interested in platooning like Arsenal does in the sense that no one would be a sure starter. I'm not sure platooning makes sense when you're out of Europe but when you've got 3 games in 7 days it looks pretty smart. Were Moyes looking for at least 2 players he's comfortable starting in each postion, McBride wouldn't have much to worry about. He might not always start but he'd get playing time.
For the nth time, the next transfer window is July, and McBride is under contract to MLS, meaning whomever might want to get him will have to pay a hefty transfer fee to MLS, IN JULY. Might happen, might not.
Re: Re: McBride: Article re. Everton Developments That presumably does not apply to an Everton loan extension. This article talks about the Crew possibly signing Dante Washington as cover in that eventuality.
Good target forwards are hard to find, even in the EPL. I bet there would be several interested teams.
Re: Re: McBride: Article re. Everton Developments so "n" = the number of times everyone has been wrong?
