From his bio onhttp://www.grange.demon.co.uk/saints/exsquad.htm#keyring: Born in 1980 and a product of the youth team who has managed a few sub appearances so far this year. Made regular appearances on the bench in the latter half of the season. After frequent appearances for the Scotland U18 and U19 sides, he made his debut for the U21's against Finland in April 98. Was also taken along to France 98 as one of the Scotland squad kit-boys and played (and scored) for the team in a closed-doors bounce match in the USA warmup - The next big thing for Saints.? Scored in the 2-1 win over Celtic. Still technically registered with the club as of July 2000 but has made it plain he wants away - won't be missed that much. Returned after a failed trial in Norway to try his luck at Fulham who he signed for for £80,000 on 07/08/00. A loan spell at Hearts followed and in March 2002 went on loan to Bournemouth.
Kit Boy? Sounds sort of like the batboy in baseball. My take on this is that he travelled with the team and practiced with the team, but wasn't part of the 23 man roster. Probably took him along since he was an young talent and wanted to give him the experience of being at a World Cup. However, since I don't know what a kit boy is, I could be wrong.
Interesting indeed. A kit boy...hmmmmmm...maybe it's just a UEFA thing, or maybe the Metrostars can create that position for the upcoming season! I would apply for it...hey maybe I could even get the players to sign a few jerseys for me, who knows? I'm gonna email MFO and check into it myself...
Kit-boy ... as the old saying goes, I guess that means he IS good enough to carry Clint Mathis' jock-strap.
Wasn't fit to clean Paul Lambert's boots though, I believe another kit boy did that http://www.channel2.co.uk/cup98/s-scotland.html In all seriousness I dont think McAnespie has even been capped.
