wish him a lot luck I wish more politicians sons could give the example like Daley's did http://cbs2chicago.com/topstories/local_story_335114527.html
that.... doesnt make any sense.... he has a masters, and is ENLISTING? and i wonder if hes gonna have an easier time of it than say, average joe would.
With a Masters in what? He probably won't be an average grunt with that level of education. He'll probably be better utilized in another role.
yep. moreover, unless you are HIGHLY specialised in the army (i.e, a pilot, or nuclear engineer, or something simlar), you are, no matter what, given a rifle, and told to do perimeter checks and the likes. you walk through teh cities, you drive the caravans. everyone does everything. thats what i keep telling my brother in law, who is going in as a cook. he thinks he wont have to fight. i know that hes wrong. oh well.
He's planning to run for President some day. (My first reaction when I heard this, don't know anything about him or his political beliefs)
Depending on what university he acquired said Master's Degree, that would make him solidly qualified to be a cook or a HMVVEE driver!
I read somewhere that advanced-degreed staff in the Armed Forces, unless they are made officers, automatically are assigned to test parachutes for the Air Force! Seems appropriate!
Not only is he going infanty, he is going airborne or air assault. He went to West Point for a year about 10 years ago but dropped out. Maybe he just feels guilty (I was in ROTC for a year and dropped out and feel extremely guilty right now, especially as some of the guys I knew are getting reactivated -- the difference is Daley is 29 and I am 37).
Remember when Mayor Daley's son made headlines for throwing some wild party and got busted? I think the media showed mayor daley shedding tears over it. I was in high school when that happened. I then heard a few years later that he was on his way to West Point. I didn't know that he dropped out though.
