according to some on the college football thread i shouldnt get excited about this kid b/c he gained 230 yards against washington state who according to them are the 5th best team in the pac-10 i dont believe that but we will see as the year continues on.

as an ohio state fan, all i can say is that god the NFL makes a player stay in college for 3 years before they can enter the draft! can you say three more years of this kid against college defenses?

one other thing about him; my old neighbor is one of the associate AD's at ohio state and she told me the other night that next to eddie george he is the most classy and kind person to ever go through ohio state, so not only is he a great football player but he is a great person as well...it is refreshing to hear that about amazing athletes these days.

Coming from someone in the Columbus, OH area who is NOT a brainwashed Buckeye fan :p

(Editorial: I truly despise Buckeye fans. Biggest bunch of bandwagon fans in the universe. One loss, and the world seems to end. Apparently, the team is NEVER allowed to lose a game.)

I have watched all of the OSU games so far. I've been most impressed with how he has carried himself so far as a person. Even more impressive, was his performance on Saturday. He was cramping up, but he kept fighting to get back in the game in the 2nd half, and was a key part in putting the game away for the Buckeyes.

I hope he continues to play well. He'll get the chance to pad his stats, as OSU now plays Cincinnati, Indiana, and San Jose State in the next 3 weeks before the next big test against Wisconsin.

    This kis is a stud...

    STUD.

    Boom, boom, bang, boom, ping....

He just runs over people. When he's not doing that, he's running through people. When he's not doing that, he's running away from people.

I'll do a Beano Cook on this kid:

Clarett will win at least two Heismans

The kid is great, really. He was the ************ last year and will continue to be the ************ for at least another year. Too bad he plays for Ohio State so he will never see a national championship. Of course with OSU's toughest game by far behind them already, he very well may get to at least play in a national championship, even if they do get beat by some 50-odd points to Miami.

maurice had arthroscopic surgery on his right knee today for a slight tear of his meniscus that occurred during the 1st quarter of the game against washington state.

    http://msn.espn.go.com/ncf/news/2002/0917/1432936.html

coach tressel says he might be able to play saturday. i say he wont play. there is no reason to jeopardize him aginst cincinnati, hold him out for one more week just to make sure he is back at it...

most surgeries like this take anywhere from 2-4 weeks to fully recover but athletes in prime condition in the middle of the season can come back quicker so who knows...

It's painfully obvious that he is scared shitless of my mighty Bearcats. It's a shame that he has to wuss out like this so he can dodge such a superior squad.

Just to show Ohio State, I think we're going to throw the game this week - no, in fact, we're going to let Ohio State beat the living hell out of us - just so that little *************** can't say, "Well, the only reason we lost was cause I didn't play."

    That'll show 'em.

Heh heh heh. Another good one. :D

    See post above this one.

College and I didn't see eye to eye.

My being a UC fan stems from having a bar a block from UC's campus.

    Perfect.

Add to that that the game is at PBS, and Ohio State is toast.

See, Ohio State is used to playing on football fields. But the mighty Bearcats have a trick up their sleeves. Paul Brown Stadium has the ground quality of a Bosnian air field. Even if OSU manages to escape with a miraculous win, they'll be so riddled with broken ankes from poor conditions that they can kiss their wishes of an otherwise undefeated creampuff schedule good-bye.

I thought either Moeller or Massilon played at PBS. It must be a different PBS. Ohio State in a high school stadium doesn't sound right.

It's Massilon - and that field is a much, much nicer playing surface than the Bengals will ever have, even if it is fake.

Being his own thread...the beast did not see action today while he did make the trip and looked to be suited up and ready if needed.

It may have come down to a 4th down and under a minute to play, the Buckeyes did pull out the victory. WOW!

Buckeyes are FREAKING lucky they came away with a "W". 2 dropped TD passes in the final minutes.

The Big Ten is definitely down this year. Michigan barely gets by a Big West squad, Michigan State already has 2 losses....

Speaking of Big Ten, hasn't Wisconsin had the same QB for over Ten years?

I think it more a case FOR Notre Dame and not against Mich St. That team is looking to be sometime special. Not that I like that observation.

I think Bollinger has been starting since his freshman year, Garcia :)

And he's far better than anything that OSU has on their QB depth chart :p

    That's not saying much.

Still, as I've stated before the season started, Ohio State will go undefeated going into the bowl game. With their only semi-tough game behind them, they have nothing but cream puffs ahead of them. Sure, Michigan will give them a run but that's only cause of the rivalry.

Embarrassingly bad week for an even more so embarrassingly bad conference.

The kid is good. No question. Anyone who can start as a true freshman is excellent. I dont think this guy is human. :) It a little too early to talk Heisman and POY candidate. I remember Hershal Walker was a great freshman at Georgia and almost won the Heisman.

This is the question I always asked myself.

Self, why can't OSU get a quality QB to go along with all them horses. Every year we insert some dork who is asked not to lose a game. While I see smaller schools have big time players who we usually decided not to recruit or asked them to come and walk on.

Oh and the worst is watching Ohio players, QBs and others go to Michigan and beat us later!

The funny thing is, Ohio State MISSED big time on a good QB.

Louisville's senior QB, 6'4" 250lb Dave Ragone, a lefty with a BIG gun, played his HS ball here in Ohio. OSU didn't even give him the time of day, so he went to Louisville. While he's been throwing for 3,000 yards each season the past couple of years, OSU has had to deal with Bellisari and Krenzel. ROFL!!! :)

andy. that happens all the time. big programs pass on somebody and he turns out to be a stud; hell, look at leftwich at marshall...good lord. kid played in washington d.c. (east coast exposure) and was a pretty decent quarterback in the metro area but didnt get a sniff from the big schools, goes to marshall and is the best qb in college football today.

the one that really gets me as an osu fan is the kid down at miami(oh) who is really good...he is a sophomore, ben roethlisberger. was the best qb coming out of the state of ohio 3 years ago, ohio state offered to him and he passed on the buckeyes for the redhawks. goes to show you that john cooper had lost his touch...

Krenzel may be a "dork" but that's fine with me;) He's smart and safe, kinda reminds me of Joe Germain a few years ago. One difference though: I guarantee you, Germain would NEVER have ran that ball like Craig did on Saturday for the winning TD. Joey would have backpeddled 20 steps then chucked it out of the back of the endzone. I THOUGHT that's what Krenzel would do too, but he suprised me, busting out the spin move and diving in. If he produced results like Germaine, I don't care how he gets it done.

    GO BUCKS
