They're also a pretty stable mid-table side, so the negative pressure (avoid mistakes at all costs) will be a bit reduced and they do make the occasional, by Championship standards, big sale so he'll be expected to produce more. They're also a bigger club than Rotherham, which usually means a better salary.
Preston North End it is: ✍️ Preston North End are pleased to announce Matthew Olosunde will join the club on the 1st July following the expiration of his contract at Rotherham United.➡️ https://t.co/DC745bmIU0#pnefc pic.twitter.com/iAWy20fDIg— Preston North End FC (@pnefc) June 30, 2021
Probably easy answers but can you name the 4 other Yanks that have played for PNE? Give you some hints….. 1) One played 100+ matches 2) Two of the guys have some last name but no relation 3) One played on loan from the Crew
Brian McBride is #3 and #1 has to be Eddie Lewis. #2 is Eddie Johnson, plus some other Johnson of a journeyman
3 games and 1 goal in a 7-game loan spell. One of many loan spells in a career that put the journey into journeyman - no less than 15 teams in 15 seasons as a pro. Interestingly, after falling out of league football and joining Tamworth in 2012-13, he moved stateside and spent the next 6 seasons in the NASL and the USL. He didn't retire until 2019 after two Indian summers at Fresno.
I actually saw Jamal play against the Colorado Springs Switchbacks two years ago when he was with Fresno. Scored on a pretty sweet mazy run through defenders. I wiki searched him at the game as was like.... oh shit that’s the same Jamal Johnson. That dude was fast even at 34ish. He kinda sorta a reminded me of poor man’s DeMarcus Beasley - slight of build, quick feet, fast acceleration, good 1-v-1, good soccer IQ, but there was something missing. I watched him and thought hmmmm...... if we was coming up today some coach would try to covert him to a wingback or RB. And you know what...... it might not have been a bad idea

Good half for the reserves: Matthew Olosunde - 7 Started at right wing-back and played with confidence. Showed the speed, energy and charisma that PNE fans will hope to see in the first team soon. A little rash at times on the ball but had the pace and athleticism to recover. Pushed on high and got more valuable minutes in the legs. Took a whack to the ankle but got up and appeared to finish the half fine. His withdrawal at the interval gave an indication that he may well be involved on Saturday at Ewood Park. https://www.lancs.live/sport/footba...ton-reserves-morecambe-rodwell-grant-22322394
