ICYMI we did a Q&A with USMNT full back Matthew Olosunde (22). Down to earth guy, fighting mentality and a ton of detail around his move to Man U as a teenager. Keep an eye out. We could see him in the Championship next year 👇👇 #USMNT #OneGoal https://t.co/pLHGtyNODM— OneGoal (@OneGoalUS) May 2, 2020
Rotherham appears to be promoted if I am reading the news right. Hopefully just a few more months for this thread to be promoted as well.

As noted above by @BostonRed on June 9th, the League One clubs voted to end the season with promotion, the spots in the promotion playoffs, and relegation based on points per game. Rotherham United finished in second and were promoted. Olosunde registered 3 assists and 5 yellow cards in 2,413 minutes (32 appearances including 27 starts) during the 2019/2020 League One campaign. He also added an assist in 242 minutes (3 starts) in the FA Cup. Rotherham were eliminated in the Third Round Proper. In addition, Olosunde played 180 minutes (2 starts) in the League Cup. Rotherham were eliminated in the Second Round. Finally, Olosunde picked up a yellow card in 180 minutes (2 starts) in the EFL Trophy. Rotherham finished in 4th in Northern Section Group H and did not advance. Transfermarkt has him making 26 appearances at right back, 4 at right midfield, 2 at left back, and 1 at left midfield.
Olosunde will be back in action for the Championship Opener against Wycombe after missing the cup match last week. https://www.themillers.co.uk/news/2020/september/freeview--warnes-pre-wycombe-wanderers-team-news/
According to this article it doesn't seem like Olosunde is in the plans at Rotherham. I was excited for his chance in the Championship, but he hasn't even made the bench for them this season. Article really makes it sound like he is on the outs without directly saying it. https://www.thestar.co.uk/sport/football/rotherham-united-hopeful-new-recruit-end-week-2985982
Makes sense. He lost his grip on the starting RB spot towards the end of the season. The guy that has started as the RB in all 3 of their games is only 23 years old, and has a bunch of Championship experience already. Olosunde's contract is up at the end of the season.
It's disappointing - he was an ever-present at RB last season - but the new RB has over 40 Championship appearances. The coach obviously doesn't think Matt can step up to this level. Not a good time to be looking around for a new destination, and the summer's not going to be much better
A rare appearance on the bench for the 1st team: TEAM v @NFFC | Blackman; Harding, Ihiekwe, Wood (c), Jones; Wiles, Lindsay, Barlaser, Crooks, Miller; Ladapo.SUBS | Johansson, Olosunde, S. Makes his Championship debut: 69| Miller comes off to applause from the Millers bench - it has been another industrious shift from him sprinkled with some quality.Olosunde comes on and looks like he'll operate on the right wing.(0-1)#rufc | #ForeverTogetherForeverProud pic.twitter.com/sB9pgIYGss— Rotherham United (@RotherhamUnited) October 20, 2020 @bungadiri -- *NOW* he's ready for promotion.
Played in 32 out of 37 league games, with 27 starts, for a promotion-chaser. Pretty good for a 21 year-old in his first pro season. His contract is up in June. If he's not kept on there'll be other options at League One level, God - or COVID - willing
On the bench again against Reading The next post on Rotherham Twitter speaks of "Another start for Wes Harding, who hasn't taken long to adjust to life as a Miller following his switch from Birmingham City." Matt is the official No.2 RB for this season
"You're not from New York City, you're from Rotherham, so get off the bandwagon, and put down the handbook, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah: Matthew Olosunde at Rotherham United" ?
