started on bench in dfb junioren cup, came on in 62nd min and was subbed out in 90th min. Injury/knock?
they advanced after a 2-1 win, was already 2-1 when he came on.

was replaced at 46st min today in a 3-0 win over AA U19. No idea if injury related or form related. His sub Biskup scored once and now tied with Hoppe at 2 goals but Biskup has played like 400 min less than Hoppe.

only lasted the 1st half as Schalke got knocked out of the dfb junior cup in a 1-0 loss to Mainz. And that ends the Fall season for him, with only 12 games to go in the season.

late posting but it's been known for a week now that Schalke are taking 2 U19 players to Winter camp which Wagner confirmed post last match that were recommended by Elgert (U19 coach) and Hoppe isn't one.

Looks like Matthew posted a highlight video:

He looks like he has a strong eye for goal. Looking forward to seeing him do great things, he seems like a great kid and prospect for the future.

made a mistake it's AB. Here's the goal.

all Hoppe did was walk the dog passed the line. The person who did all the work was 02-Krasniqi with the assist. Krasniqi also drew the PK for the 1st goal as well and the AB game was his 1st XI this season as it's due to other players being unfit. Otherwise he's usually a bencher, who likely will play more next season.

Hoppe scored 2 goals out 3 this season vs the same opponent AB U19. Believe it's also his 2nd tap in as well.

only played 1st half in a 4-0 loss vs Bayer Leverkusen U19. Him and 2 others were subbed out at HT.

Elgert trashes his own team and their mentality. Saying things like he would give every player a 6 rating bar 1 person. That some of these players will struggle massively at pro level. Also their captain was missing injured and he's a player that elevates the whole team.

and in - for Hoppe, he said that he hasn't gotten a CF that can score 15-20 goals since Kruger (a player who Schalke rates highly and wanted to keep but he wanted as much game time as fast as possible and he wouldn't have gotten it at Schalke) 2 seasons ago. Kutucu moved to the 1st team last season and still with 1st team.

this is obviously a reference to Hoppe since he's the 1st choice CF and basically starts every game for the club and he's only scored 3 goals which is as many as the sub CF, which is really poor.

more like 1st team debut isn't a thing for him. At this point in time he's not 1st team prospect. Elgert plays a role in 1st team promotions too and he doesn't seem content. He didn't even recommend Hoppe for Winter Camp.

he's not wrong in past seasons guys like 96-Avdijaj (unprofessional nut job), 97-Reese, 98-Wright, 99-Kruger, 00-Kutucu (currently with 1st team). They all scored 14+ goals in their last U19 season, bar Wright who ended up with 11 but at least they all hit double digits. Wright also needed mass injuries to even get 1st team chances and he didn't impress there.

Hoppe is 7 goals away with 9 games to go to even hit double digits.....

if it continues like this, Schalke is better off buying CFs than promoting any of their current CFs.

he's still injured. A player who's been injury prone for 3 seasons out of 3 in Germany. He can't stay fit to save his life.

to think he's been post U19 for almost 2 full seasons and he's only played 8 Schalke II games out of a possible 56 games (as of now)......that's like 14% of the games for those 2 seasons.

he's in a weird situation that's for sure. I always felt he physically looked like a kid even though he's 21 and that he's not really efficient either. The reality is that not every player is suited for every country especially when the player is still young. Players like him seem more likely to breakthrough for realz when they are older if ever.

only question is whether he stays or decide to start anew in a different club.

not sure if they would, do you wait on an injury prone player or give that chance to someone else from Academy or do you just buy someone?

But if they do would guess they renew his contract by a year and see how he does in II and if he can stay fit but that could be his last chance at the club.
