He'll probably score too. Some people are just born on 3rd base and then proceed to hit a triple.* * Assuming that's possible in baseball, a sport that I know absolutely nothing about
Erm, nope. I don't know anything about that one either, which is my fault. It's a phenomenonal spectacle.
AKA Aussie Rules with a soccer ball on an oversized rugby pitch Also AKA not enough pulling and dragging to really be rugby, and too high-scoring to be football. Or interesting * BTW the latter is generally the view of the guys who play both GAA games at inter-county level, although that really should be "played" these days. As Gaelic Games have become more professionalized, the intensity of the demands on the players have virtually killed off the guys who played both games at inter-county level for counties that are competitive at both
But your point stands: I don't know squat about baseball and should try to avoid using metaphors from it. It's just that I Hoppe gives me the feeling that he's one of those guys whose abilities aren't that great but has "a certain something" that translates at the top level. In his case, it's the combination of a willingness to try shit out with the certainty that his "shit" will work out. Can be hard to like in a player, unless he's playing for your team and the goals go in
You weren’t far off. Yogi Berra would have approved. I agree that Hoppe is interesting. Hope he gets a good amount of minutes at Mallorca
The quote related to this is about George Bush who was "born on third base but thought he hit a triple." RIP Anne Richards.
he's got very good feet for a guy his size. His physical attributes are quite good. AND he tries shit.
He and Kubo seem to have some nice chemistry. Hoppe did leave Kubo out to dry on some of those passes, though.
La Liga is great for him because all the teams try and play with the ball, so he should get plenty of action.

I blush at that. Great sporting icon and, by all accounts a great guy as well. The malapropisms were legend, though
