He missed one game last season after taking over the starting role. https://theathletic.com/news/injure...n-villa-and-a-doubt-for-england/Y9SyZwz5O8Bc/ Barring injury, suspension, or a locked-in spot in the league table, Ramsdale will start 38 league games.
Relatively quiet first half, busier second half, 3-0 Arsenal victory. From a first-half clip, here's what I could make out of Matt communicating with his defenders: There is someone Standing behind you Turn around ... look at me There is someone Watching your movements Turn around ... look at me There is someone Who really needs you It's my goal A clean sheet Turn around (turn around) Look at me (look at me) Understand, understand ... Curious phrasing, but certainly something I appreciate.
He's got his own semi-active pbp thread, but not one in the big boy forum, unlike Jeff Gal. Bet some fans are hanging on his every move the next month.
"The Arsenal" sounds like something Jesse Marsch would say that the English press would roast him for days about.
Or Roman Gall. I guess Turner isn't gall enough for the big board. Should we have a fvcking exception for the MNT players?
Wait, why is Matt's thread here? Did he make a league appearance?? I'm confused. Also, that save today was the best save I've seen by a YA keeper this season. Which, well, says as much about this season as the save
Upcoming Arsenal matches where Turner could play: October 13 - @ Bodo/Glimt October 20 - PSV October 27 - @PSV November 3 - Zurich November 9 - Brighton (League Cup) I have a gut feeling that we might see Ramsdale play one of the PSV matches, simply because Arsenal's schedule is very busy yet almost evenly split between league and European matches. Normally it's more lopsided in favor of league play, so the starter gets more matches just through league play. But Turner should get most of these. And Turner is definitely going to be the guy making the trip above the Arctic Circle next Thursday.
What a save from USMNT GK Matt Turner for Arsenal. 🧤 pic.twitter.com/CLfQk0csHk— CBS Sports Golazo ⚽️ (@CBSSportsGolazo) October 6, 2022
That save at 90 was good too. Though he probably shoulda gobbled up that lil cross in the first place. His distribution is still a bit inconsistent. I haven’t seen his appearances much though so that might be too critical on my part.
Today may be his first shot-stopping test w/ Arsenal. Bodo/Glimt are tough at home, especially when it's starting to get nippy (in the 40's). Of course they annihilated Roma 6-1 a while back.
Someone's been taking acting classes, and it shows! 🛺 Colney Carpool 🛺😎 Frimmy drives Matt to training in style🎤 With a little karaoke singalong...— Arsenal (@Arsenal) October 12, 2022
