NF should get a penalty here. Clear handball. let Reyna take it you cowards! EDIT: are you kidding me, VAR said play on????
Another replay - that is a stonewall penalty. It is shocking that they waved play on. I’m sorry to go the conspiracy route, but this would make me think the fix is in.
Everton pursuing the clever strategy of hitting one another in the face and going down in a heap to delay matters.
Very strange that that was not a penalty. Reyna overall helping with posession and attacking ability, I think NF looks better with him. However, somewhere around the 20th minute +-, he wasn't doing anything to help out another player on the wing and you heard the coach scream "help him, help him". Only time we've heard the coach on camera. Otherwise, he looks like he fits right in to me.
Reyna was clean and clever on the ball, did not put a foot wrong that half (in possession), imo. But that’s all probably masked by the fact that NF are losing and not capitalizing on their advantages in key moments. sorry, still can’t get over how the CHO pass in the box was not called a penalty. That’s is reviewed/called in most other Prem matches, so one can see why VAR is under intense scrutiny, no consistency. It should probably be 1-1 right now.
Well Tim Howard says that is not a penalty, so I’m almost tempted to change my mind and side with Timmy….then I remember that he is an Everton hero, so, perhaps bias crept in
Reyna with his first attacking mistake imo, loses ball in MF on layoff from Wood. Hope he gets some positive moments/involvements this half. he and CHo get a breakaway in the box, but CHO pass is cut out.
NF dawdles so that Everton can set up on defense. That time Hudson-Adoi and Reyna (?) got forward, where was everyone else?
And Gio only gets 7 minutes in the second half and the gets subbed. Commentator says “you can understand the sub, he was not Influencing things enough.” I’m thinking Elenga was going to come on for Reyna as a pre-planned sub, probably around minute 60-65, but Nuno probably pulled the trigger early because of the scoreline/situation. Reyna continues to be a conundrum for me, but clearly moreso his managers. Meanwhile, his home club is playing the CL semifinals. Sigh. oh well, I’m turning the TV off - have a nice day all.
Um, subbed because Gibbs-White and Hudson-Odoi were so much better. Maybe if he changed his name to Reyna-Egan. There seems to be a bias toward hyphenated names. As I write that, horrible miss by Gibbs-White.
Reyna did nothing to make an impact on this game. No big mistakes, but he didn't get his uniform dirty. he wasn't the worst player for Nottingham though.
I'm heavily biased, but Elanga so far is a huge downgrade from Reyna. Can't pass for *&^#. Edit: Disposessed again.
The Everton side is not really a big deal either way. NF's best hope is not being as bad a Luton. Absent more point deductions, they'll have a lot of trouble passing Everton either way. A point or 3 here would help their cause for sure tho... Need some late-game heroics
Game over. Time to prep for the big FA Cup semi with our boy in it. Another ball with eyes on it. But by the same token, it's not like Forest in any way deserves a draw at this point.
