NF have the worst goal difference of any team not in the bottom 3, are 15th in goals scored, and are barely hanging on above the relegation zone. LOL at the idea that anyone on that squad is remotely untouchable. Continuing to do the same s*** that hasn’t worked is quite a strategy, I suppose.
They have a GD of -1 in the league under Nuno and are scoring 1.9 goals per game. They'd have 15 more goals than they currently do if they'd been scoring at that clip for the entire season. The change in manager seems to be working pretty well, so I'm not sure why the idea that Nuno should be kind of content is so laughable to you.
Small sample size. They had a new manager bounce winning their first two games under him. After the new year, though, they’ve reverted back to being horrible. When Nuno took over, they were 17th in the table. Now, they’re sitting in 16th. Kudos to Nuno for orchestrating Everton’s 10 points docking and collapse, I guess. .
They have a couple of killer games coming up. They are performing essentially the same regarding pts/game. Everton, as a better team only in the position it is in due to pt deduction is likely to gain marginally on NF the longer the season goes. And while Luton has stumbled the last run of games, they have shown they aren't dead yet. NF beating WH was a really good performance and result. They are going to need a few more of those. Hopefully, they can scrape them out, but I think that defense is going to remain problematic unless some adjustments are made.
Turner starts, Reyna on the bench at home against Manchester United in the FA Cup. Kickoff at 2:45 Eastern on ESPN+
Color commentator notes that Forest's attacking players are very fast and good in the open space, but that they struggle in tighter spaces when more technical skill is required. Interesting...
United blinks first and makes a substitution (at 73'); Forest still standing pat. Will we play extra time (if tied) or 'do that replay thing?'
And yet they want a keeper who plays it out of the back rather than hoofs it. Does this team make any sense?
Gibbs-White should take an enormous amount of shit for missing his chance like 2 minutes before the goal. That was a horrible shot. Edit: didn't realize it would've been offside. Still though.
Turner did well despite the outcome: 6 saves, 3 of which came from shots in the box. No major distribution gaffs, and I thought the defense looked decently organized.
Glad Turner did well. But what gives with Gio not getting meaningful time, even starting? Seems strange to me….
Well except for that pesky relegation thing.Regardless of what his supporters believe, if the gaffer thought Gio could actually help them get a precious point he would be playing. It is neccesary for Gio to prove his point in training, and thus far he clearly hasn't done enough. Loan with or without an option has F all to do with Nuno's decisions. Simple as Nuno has one mission and only mission, STAY UP. If they don't stay up the whole plan goes to shit anyway.
