It's not all that often that I've literally never heard of a club, but Stranraer has accomplished that.

Third division in Scotland, finished 8th of 10 in that league last year, currently in last place with 12 points and a -23 GD through 20 games, for anyone curious.

You know things are bad for one of our guys when making the bench is a significant improvement.

I'd be very surprised if the 3rd division in Scotland was fully professional.

Wow, Polster did play. It took me completely by surprise, didn't watch, but they lost 2-1 to last-on-the-table Hearts. Their second loss of the season, the other one was to Celtic.

Losing this one could have been fatal to the season.

So we can say Matt was influential this season. :)

Had Gers, who till this weekend had only lost 1 game in 20 outings, been able to snag a win (or even pulled off a draw) they would have continued to keep pace with Celtic, ever inching close to a key head-to-head in the 3rd to last game of the season. (Gers winning the end of year Derby.)

It was unlikely Gers would get there with only one loss, but no impossible. It's also not likely Gers don't lose another point or two down the stretch. Whether Celtic do them the favor of dropping a few themselves remains to be seen.

(funnily enough, Polster got relatively decent reviews - relative being the key word - and with Tav still out with his surgery and Flanagan with YCs the past two games, and being specifically called out by Gerrard, Matt may even get a few more league minutes in the next game or two.)

Guess he'll be playing RB with Tavernier and Helander out.

PS: And Flanagan has been terrible as RB.

This is his first league start for Rangers, and his first league start for any club since March 11, 2018.

I don't think so. Tavernier is hurt and Flanagan got yanked at halftime of their last match and isn't in the squad at all today. Polster is the next man up.

The Good: Rangers won, but everybody knew they were going to end 2nd in the SPL anyway.

The Bad: MLS teams could beat those teams in that league, outside Celtic and Rangers.

The Ugly: Polster got a yellow and was meh. Still better than Jon Jon.
