Well, for Ream it's because he's already played in the EPL - for two immediately-relegated sides, it's true, but he wasn't the worst player on the park for either. No reason why he couldn't do it again. Well "no reason" other than his age: he turns 33 in October, so I guess retirement is on the horizon now.
Who feels he couldn't hack it in the EPL? I think most people just rightly think he's not going to play for Chelsea. And while I think he could cut it in the EPL, I don't know why someone would pay specifically for him.

Miazga goes a full 90 in a 2-1 loss. He was also given a red card after the final whistle after engaging in a altercation with Derby’s Tom Lawrence (also given a red)

I like Matt and he’s good when he’s on.. but the guy is going to have a “headcase” label soon (if not now). This, grabbing the guy’s junk in Holland, the Mexico incident.. there are other incidents too
What sparked this incident? You get the impression from the clip they both made a B-line towards each other at the final whistle. Miazga and Lawrence were both stupid. You’re 100% correct... Miazga is getting the rep of a hot-head. There’s a difference between being a fiery character and hit-head. It looks like Miazga has chosen hot-head.
Being a hot head is fine when you got the talent to back it up. Matt doesn't and is putting his future as a Championship lifer at risk.
Would it seem that Erik Palmer-Brown has surpassed him? He seems to have been steady for Austria Vienna.
Miazga is still ahead of EPB. There are a bunch of U-23 eligible central defenders I like: Richards, McKenzie, EPB, Robinson, CCV, Glad, Keita (& to a lesser extent Trusty). Miazga is still ahead of all those guys, for now. But the situation is fluid. EPB is doing better these days, McKenzie has shown a lot both on and off the field, Richards has all the tools but needs to play regularly beyond the 3.Liga, Keita has the tools and is finally getting minutes which he didn’t have last year at the U-20 WC (Tab told me he thought Keita would do well once in a pro environment), Robinson has a breakout year but needs to avoid a 2nd year slump (like how Reggie Cannon did for Dallas after his breakout season). CCV & Glad are a bit different. Both have played so much soccer up to this point and it’s hard to say either is better than where they were 2 years ago. You hope they haven’t stagnated but probably need something different
Nice one, MV! Weren't you the one who told us that you didn't choose to be a hot-head, but that hot-headedness had chosen you?
Who knows what the future will bring, but it's a while (and a couple of countries) since MM grabbed a sack of nuts. I wouldn't go overboard worrying about this. Not like he's brawling at practice. Champs teams tend not to mind a little old fashioned hockey.
The next 18 months will tell us a great deal about where his ceiling is, as assessed by people who make a living out of the game. Austria isn't a great league, but it's still well-scouted and his performances will have already been thoroughly analyzed. If he goes to the likes of Utrecht or AZ or Darmstadt - and gets real PT - then you can argue that he's continuing to progress and may yet deliver on his (reported) ability. If it's the likes of Zvolle or Fortuna Sittard or Sandhausen, then he'll play pro ball for another 10 years or so until he's 33 (he turned 23 in April), but I doubt he'll interest MLS bottom-third sides in 5-6 years and forget the MNT.
That was a full on slap. You rarely get to see that anymore. I hate the fact that the instant he did that he pointed to his mouth. Own it kid. You hit him, you earned it. That's a 5 game suspension I would think for violent contact? It's not like he couldn't have avoided the altercation. They both went well out of their way to engage each other. It's crazy that these guys can't take a step back and realize what's on the line before they do something like this.
