Not sure if this deserves another Clint thread but here goes... "One alluring prospect is a possible relocation to Bayern Munich. Bayern interestedly followed Mathis for years until MLS officials priced him too high. His value now lessened due to the falling out with Lienen and his occasional over-the-top antics, the Munich side could splash out the Euros for his services." for more details...... http://msn.foxsports.com/story/3205872
Did you pick a team at random, or has someone already started a thread about Mathis to Real Madrid or Barcelona?
Maybe 'cause most teams who have provided him with playing time (none of them nearly as good as Bayern), would not get near him again?....
Who is this Robert Burns character and where does he get off penning such wild, speculative... um ... nonsense? Should auld acquaintance be forgot, And never brought to mind? Should auld acquaintance be forgot, And days of auld lang syne? And days of auld lang syne, my dear, And days of auld lang syne. Should auld acquaintance be forgot, And days of auld lang syne? .... Surely, writing about 1860 Munich wasn't nearly interesting enough. .... My head just exploded.
Is that actually ODB or is it Dave Chappelle being ODB or is someone else entirely with some bling in they grill?
Are you sure it isn't Mike Petke going to join Lothar Mathaeus??? Lothar can really pull somestrings and get Petke to play.
Who writes that crap? Is there one even hint from the club that they are interested? It is Sun at its worst, it seems.....the author makes no reference to any credible bit of news regarding...
So it's gossipmongering. A writer desperate for a story before the deadline makes one up. Big deal. There is still a small kernel of rational reasoning in it. Bayern has the Bundesliga wrapped up for 2004-2005. They are looking at CL glory. Would they be interested in Mathis? Not likely. But if he only costs them pocket change he has a shot because he has proven that he doesn't choke under pressure.
I think it would be a great move for Clint. At Hannover, Clint is riding the pine. Bayern Munich would be such a better club for him. Bayern have tons of money and a better stadium. Just think what the seats are like for the teammates that aren't playing!!! They may even have massaging chairs on the sidelines and free drinks! And don't get me started on the better food from the concessions stand...
Hannover's stadium has been chosen for WC2006, and I believe Bayern's was not chosen. So how do you make the judgement that Bayern's stadium is better? Been there? Don't knock the stadium. Hannover's stadium is the team stadium and is undergoing some reconstruction and will be used in WC 2006: http://fifaworldcup.yahoo.com/06/en/d/s/hannover.html Munich is building a new stadium for WC 2006 and Bayern's stadium will not be used: http://fifaworldcup.yahoo.com/06/en/d/s/munchen.html Knocking Mathis is understandable but knocking Hannover's stadium is absolutely ludicrous!
There wasn't a single line in my email that was meant to be taken seriously. That said, thanks for the info on the stadiums!
Makes no sense they are full of strikers, Pizarro, Makaay, and Guerrerro. I don't think Mathis would displace any of them. Maybe he has a chance a playing AM, but if he is going to BM I just don't see him getting any time.
