From USSOCCER website: "MATHIS CHAT LIVE ON JAN. 15 EXCLUSIVELY ON USSOCCERFAN.COM: U.S. forward Clint Mathis will be available to answer questions live during a Live Chat event on ussoccerfan.com on Wednesday, January 15 at 2 p.m. ET. Mathis, 26, led the United States in scoring in 2002, recording seven goals and two assists for 16 points, including one of the finest goals in the World Cup to give the USA a 1-1 draw against Korea. Fans can access the chat by logging onto www.ussoccerfan.com and selecting "Interact -> Live Chat" from the menu"
Question #1 How bad did you want to say to DaBruce: "You're not starting me?!? I already scored 2 goals against them in their house this year! Are you on crack?"
The link worked and Clint did show up. I logged onto the chat area, but every ten minutes or so I was knocked out of the chat, which was annoying (the screen stated I was being logged off because I had been idle, but continued to log back on.) The chat lasted about 40 minutes. Quite a few questions, but none of mine were answered. Some of the questions I remember or sort of remember were - which player gets teased the most during the training camps - answer: Taylor Twellman. - there was a question about captaining the El Salvador game - answer: honored and it allowed him to take a larger leadership role - was asked about predicting a score for the Canada match - answer: he could not predict a score and that the Canadians have a good defense, but the US would win - asked about his age when he started to be a stand out player and people took notice - answer: about 13 or 14 I know there was a question about Bruce Arena. But, the above is all I can remember at the moment. Hopefully a recap will be put on the website in the near future.
Q: Disclose one thing about Arena that only the team would know? A: He's got great abs. Not a pretty visual - Cleatus and Bruce comparing beer guts.
Yeh, I keep checking for transcripts, but nothing is there. They need to do these chats monthly so people can get accustomed to a regular schedule. Clint is still the most exciting US player to watch in my opinion.
It was kinda a boring chat, eh? Nothing can top the Steve Cherundolo chats. I think those threads were lost though. Anyone provide a link?
I liked it. Loved the Arena comment. Priceless.I take particular joy cause for a while I was on an Arena is a tub o'lard kick on these boards!
