Yes, Borre went for less. I never learned of the confirmed amount, but even the highest rumors only went up to 5 million.

It's definitely a little odd. Casierra has not shown himself to be the kinda goleador that Borre or even Preciado can be. He's only a year younger than Borre when he was bought. I rationalize the hefty fee as a short term investment. Atletico wants Borre to contribute to the first team one day. For that, they'll loan him out for seasoning just like they did with Oliver Torres. If his value depreciates, oh well. It already has, actually.

Ajax must figure that Casierra can contribute to the first team now and have success now. If, at his age, he can replicate his production with Cali in the Eredivisie, he'll quickly be sold to one of the bigger European leagues for a much bigger fee.

Casierra fits the mold of players who've succeeded in the Netherlands in recent years.

You guys are making good money and have always been known to have a great academy. Yepes is taking a gamble picking up the like of Candelo, Aquivaldo, Aguilar etc. Doesn't sound like much of a reinvestment to me?

Rumored to be selling Mera so no CB with experience if he leaves. Abel don't like as hurts Balantas development. Candelo is here to retire prob be an assistant coach soon

wow, that says a lot because I really think Preciado is a super talented player. Mateo turned 19 a couple months ago so he's quiet young. Any chance he has to make that Olympic squad?

No think it's set with John Córdoba, Roger, Perciado, Borre to choose from. + an over 23 player.

They dropped this much cash hope he develops into something special. Hope we can get more Colombians in holland.

Imho, Preciado have a lot of goal, force and thats it........he remebered me the flaws of rodallega, bad choices, look for the more difficult option....shot when he have to pass.............

for me isnt casual that borre and casierra qwith less goals, were the one that was sold to importants teams in europe.

How can it be set with Cordoba when he has NEVER been a part of the process? Borre's not playing the Olympics. Atletico said no.

It's possible Cordoba gets called in. Maybe even Miguel Borja.

Casierra doesn't have a shot because Piscis wouldn't call anybody that young. Marlos and Benedetti were on Pekerman's radar before Piscis'. Casierra will have to wait until the '17 sub 20.

I can see some similarities. He can be a shoot-first, think later kind of guy sometimes. He can make poor decisions in the area.

Those are pretty common issues with most common strikers. The coolness inside of the area and on the ball is what divides the great strikers from the rest. Those can be improved with time and experience.

I don't like the Roda comp because there were SO MANY flaws in his games that Preciado does not and will not ever have. Roda's first touch was, at times, among the worst of anybody who's had the honor of representing Colombia on the international stage. His cleats may as well have been made of rock. His play with back-to-goal was horrid and he didn't have an ounce of strength or mass to make up for it.

Preciado's match against USA u-23 was very Roda-like--or worse, even. That's not the guy we usually see for Cali.

Para los que todavía subestiman a los jugadores de la liga colombiana por el solo hecho de jugar ahí . Alimentado prejuicios

Most of it, 7 regulars and 4 subs/youth players.

Casierra made a solid first impression with the fans, at least on the main Dutch Ajax boards. His ability to retain the ball is very good. Last season, Younes was first choice left winger and Milik striker, Casierra will compete with them for spots, but he should receive plenty of game time this season.
