ill be in prague from the 19th to the 22nd. Does anyone know if there are any games being played during this time?

No luck. There's a game in Zlin on the 22nd, but that's a good ways from Prague.

OK, but there should be playoff hockey. The problem is, it being playoffs, it might not be sure if the game will be on, especially if it's game 4 or 5 of a series that doesn't go that long. There's a very good web site. www.hockj.cz, that provides hockey coverage, although it's only in Czech. The good news is that as of today, both Prague teams, Sparta and Slavia, are 2-0 up in their quarterfinal series, are are likely to advance to the semi-finals.

If you go, it should be reasonably easy to get a ticket to Sparta, if on the street as opposed to the box office, because they play in a very big arena. Slavia's arena is much, much smaller, so you should try to get tickets well ahead if there's a game.

The semifinals start the 20th and it's looking like Slavia-Sparta.

As for tickets, I never missed out on tickets even in the playoffs at Slavia, but I did have to "watch" the 1st period once from behind a wall of people. Then I burrowed my way into the masses. So get there early and you should be okay.

Sparta sells out pretty quickly in the playoffs, but there might be people out selling on the street.

Perhaps I misread the schedule, but I see two games in Prague on April 20th.

Ceske Budejovice at Zizkov (10:15)
FC Synot at Slavia Prague (16:30)

There is also a second division game on April 20th. Looks like you could go to two games if you wanted. Please note that two of the game days will probably change, because they havnen't decided on the Sunday or Monday game for the round.

Slavia hockey stadium- there's a tram (can't remember the number) from the center (Tesco or IP Pavlova) to KUBANSKE NAMESTIE. Then it's a 2 minute walk downhill.

Slavia soccer stadium- Strahov is at the other end of the same tram if I remember correctly and then a nice hike uphill.

I just checked the hockey schedule and it looks like they will either play on the 20th or the 21st. I wasn't able to work out which semifinal series starts first. But it'll be at Slavia and it should be a good series.
