West Ham are 2 points out of 17th and Chelsea as we know need a win here to allow for a draw in the final match v. Liverpool to advance to the Champions League.

CMON YOU BLUES! Thanks for the tape delay info. Another freaking day I have to use my short time off to leave work early. Last week, I was using my cell to phone a friend who was at The Bridge. The Lads better start playing with HEART now. A win over the relegated Hammers and a final win at The Bridge over the reds would be phenominal! Now is the time for JFH to get his touch back!

    John Terry out

...for the game today. Can't say i like that at all.I really would have prefered to have him in the team being that it is a derby and all.

Nothing against the French lads, but.......

10 seconds to go - corner

There is full time......Hammers win - Liverpool Lose

LUCKY BLUES for the Pool choke job vs. ManCity

Big Blue quote of the afternoon - "West Ham blowing bubble, Chelsea blown away"

All down to next week, a draw should put us in as we'd be tied with liverpool and we'd maintain our lead in Goal difference

We are not playing well of late

    Whats the problem huh?
We are playing like a team that is mored in the middle of the table instead of chasing the Champs league. Our once potent strike force is dulling by the game. Our midfield is bereft of ideas when petit doesnt have the ball.
The goal was unlucky as Baba deflected it by Gallas and Cudicini was left flatfooted.
BUT i ask...who the fuck let Di Canio in front of them?
He came from outside the six yard box and was superbly placeds to score the winner.A true strikers goal it was.Siting in the six yard box wating for something--anything--to happen so as he could get a shot in.Where the hell was Melchiot? The ball was played in from the left, an expierenced right full would have been running to his near post and should have seen Di Canio free.

But all that makes no difference at all. They were up for the game right from the whistle and we wern't...simple as that really.Just like the Villa away game.I just don't get it.
Do we need more home grown talent in the team?
    I think we do.

This was not a fun week.

It was a no lose situation there for a while for CFC.
There was Leeds-Fulham-West ham all in danger of going down.....couldn't have scripted it better eh?

It's a safe bet to suppose that all at CFC will be hoping to play in the reebok next season :)

    Next season

Well the mighty Leeds won today.
    At Highbury of all places.

The're safe now in all reality.

Now, looking at all the teams that are going to come up i don't see any that can trouble us.Perhaps a full slate of 18 points there next season.
West Ham going down would indeed be helpfull as that would also mean less droped points in the typically hard fought derby.

    Missed opportunity.

1 point out of the last 9 available. It would be a sin if we can't stay in 4th.

Sunday morning will have our stomachs in knots.

    Indeed, too many droped points.
West ham did us both home and away.Though i wasn't really all that surprised at the result to be honest, they typically play us tough.
That last minute Owen goal is huge now huh?

Then again if you want to play that game i suppose one can say the goal that Lampard scored at Ewood park all those weeks ago was just as big.

Home to the 'pool now for the Champions league it is then.
I think we can beat them.
Problem is i also think they are capable of beating us.
Our formidable strike force has left us of late-it must return for the Liverpool game.If we can put 2 goals in the net we will get the point that is required i believe, perhaps even all three.
It's a problem of late you know, scoring that is.Sure we knocked in 4 against the other scousers, but, in all honesty we were a touch lucky there.
Think back about the past few games and take a look at the similarity to last seasons run in with the once free scoring side we had.

Hope we don't end up with the same score line as last seasons season ender.

With the way Chelsea is playing now, I even have doubts that they can score 1 goal against Liverpool.

Our best bet to nip out Liverpool for #4? a 0-0 draw.

And then we'll have one person to thank: Nicholas Anelka. His 90th minute goal against Liverpool was probably the most important goal for Chelsea all season.
