y'know, i remember when he hurt himself and came up funny but totally forgot about it until now. it explains a lot about how poor he has been in the last few weeks.

On oct 2nd 2011,they said "we were not good enough",with inferior players compared to yesteryear, trying to rebuild, we were told "panic buys" it was said the "power has shifted" but on that day, and it as a bad day , even with our confidence low, one stat was ignored,One stat was overlooked my fellow gooners, the possession stats (Arsenal had 62%) and one relatively unknown player (Francis Coquelin's) performance was ignored for the mighty Scotty Parker(whose stats are about the same as Denilson). On that day, they all celebrated my friends , but today all Spartans, all proud gooners, remember and celebrate..happy St Totteringham day

Happy St. Totteringham's Day everyone. In this the most miserable of seasons, where Spuds played out of their skins, we still had a St. Totteringham's day. May there be many, many, many more.

hopefully this helps with RVP's decision to stay...and us getting M'Vila.

No way. It was incredible but not on par with Thomas. C'mon...with your knowledge of history....we were AT Anfield playing the very team we were chasing and had to win by two. Citeh was home playing against a ten man relegation squad.

for the love of God please send Jenkinson out on loan next season for expereience. the poor kid looked sooooo out of place when he played this season, almost feel sorry for him.

Need decent cover for Sagna next year, if they think Coq is that guy so be it but cant be Jenkinson, just not fair for the kid

So proud of this squad. They could've mailed it in after such a horrible start but they didn't. Tons of injuries, more ups and downs than a roller coaster, but finished third on the last day.

Now let's sort this shit out over the summer. If I'm this much of a nervous wreck on the last day of next season I want it to be because we're in a City/Manu type situation.

I've been in total media blackout till kickoff (game delayed till 1pm here) what a finish to the season...had to sweat right till the end. Congrats boys....a very respectable come back considering where we were last fall. Now let's spend/rebuild/whatever. We're better than third!

To finish one place behind Citeh and United when:

    - Citeh and United have the most resources
    - We lost Cesc (******** Nasri he's an average player)

is an excellent achievement. And yes, Spurs in fairness played well this season, but so did we. Bias aside, I don't see how Spurs played better football this year. We both had good spells and bad patches.

I think it also shows, to a good extent, that Arsene still has it. He's managed the next best team after the Mancunians and with a fraction of their resources. I'm looking forward to next season already, with some good buys we can challenge Citeh and United.

Well as you say, even though Spurs beat us then, we were arguably the better team that day lol...

Spurs has to be careful Bale doesn't leave. Should Chelsea not win the Champions League (and they've won more trophies in total than Spurs has now) then would Bale want to play in Europa League football? He was average this season anyhow.

That was a roller coaster of a season and a huge achievement for Arsene and the players. They showed a lot of courage and determination to come back after the disastrous start of the season. Kudos to all of them.
Having said that, I hope we will keep RVP and bring in at least 2 if not 3 quality players. Looking at the game today, IMO, we definitely need M'Vila (or an M'Vila type) in the midfield. An utility defender would be helpful ,Jenkinson is no way ready to deputize for Back. A good back up keeper is needed as well. I am willing to give the BGP some slack since it has been revealed today that he was hurt and could not train for the last few weeks. Bravo Arsenal.

I basically agree - I think Wenger has begun to rethink the philosophy he held from 06 to 11 - basically the youth project. We'll see how fully this is true this summer, but in general, the signs since the Cesc/Nasri sagas and the 8 - 2 at Old Trafford are promising - quality veteran signings at reasonable prices, while freezing our/offloading deadwood and failed youth products.

I'd also point out that all of our "panic" signings (bar Park, no idea what that was about) were crucial to our finishing third this year. These are exactly the kind of players we've been needing for year - and they don't cost 50 million pounds to sign!

Without Arteta, Mertesacker, Benayoun, and Santos, we would have not made the Champions League. Indeed, I think we'd be down with Liverpool right now.

I think from a practical standpoint, we would benefit more from Spurs missing the Champions League. Chelsea don't depend on it for their revenue - they'll still be able to attract big names. Spurs are in real danger of losing Modric and Bale. I don't see how they are going to keep Adebayor either.

Thats why I now want CFC to beat Bayern - because it will eliminate Spurs as a threat for a Champions League spot for a while. However, even if CFC miss out next year, they will still remain a threat because of their resources.

The thing about the season is, these are the worst teams both Wenger and Skr Red nose have fielded in many many years. Without question. And yet, Man Ure nearly won it. And we reach the champions league for the 16th consecutive year (!)

The so-called "Big four" of yesteryear could be down to just the big two--no Chelsea and no Liverpool. add Man Shiteh. Spurs I do not fear.

    Screw that.
I want Roman to play Eurpa League. no question. without the CL, which big stars are they going to attract? This is not a storied club with a great tradition--these are the Chavs, buit on blood soiled Russian Oligarch oil and mineral wealth .

These trams just can't keep on spending and spending.

ANY team managed by 'arry, I do not fear.

They can pay premium wages and fees, basically outbid more successful clubs. How do you think CFC got where they did, or, for that matter, MCFC just won the league? Man City were mid to bottom level premiere league side, yet they were still able to assemble the best side in England (and probably the third best in the world) in 3 years.

This cannot continue ad nauseam. The fair play rules have to have some bite soon. You cant continue spending mone With no consequence.

Someone needs to start a thread on the fair play rules.

Hell NO! I dont care about Spurs playing the CL qualifiers, but I would hate to see Chelski winning the CL title. I want them in Europa! By the way, I dont want them to become the first London club to be a CL title winners either. Screw them.

Nice dig at the Spuds but isnt it just going to reming you of our poor season everytime you see it? The 8-2, some embarassing losses, 10 in total actualy...

Finishing above the Yids isnt an achievement its a given
