Wow... didn't know Ghana had previous wins over USA... 4 to nil.
    Mostly irrelevant but:
U20 World Cup 1997: Ghana vs USA 1:0
U20 World Cup 2013: Ghana vs USA 4:1
U17 World Cup 1995: Ghana vs USA 2:0
U17 World Cup 1999: Ghana vs USA 2:0

USA yet to not lose vs Ghana at ANY age level.

8-0 so far. Going to be really hard to qualify for the loser in this game, if there is one, with Germany/Portugal to come.

A draw in this game would be the end of both teams in this group.

That 5-0 was during the dark ages of US soccer.

All these results have no bearing on Monday's game. Its just a statistic.

Germany has an edge over Portugal but in 2000 Portugal sent GErmany home with a Sergio Conceição hat trick. This match could very well be a semi-final. Looking forward.

2006 WC Germany beat us in the 3rd Place play-off.
2008 EC Germany beat us in the Quarter-finals
2010 WC Spain beat us in the last 16.
2012 EC Germany (first game like this WC 2014) beat us in the group stage and then...
2012 EC Spain beat us in penalties in the Semi-finals

So 5 defeats in the last 4 major tournaments have been either been Germany or Spain.

    * Other 2 defeats:

France beat us in the Semi-finals in 2006 WC.
Switzerland beat us in the group stage 2008 EC

I think Ghana have white primaries so we're probably going to look like a delicious summer treat that beats the heat.

This game will definitely end with a winner. If I had to bet in a team, I would bet on Ghana, they have a more ''world class'' players and hteir midfield is really good, I can say that it is almost at the same level of the portuguese midfield.Asamoah,Essien,Muntari and Boateng are the most relevant.Usahas good players(Dempsey, maybe Altidore if he's on the mood, Julian Green looks promising but he has to gain some experience,Bradley is good too.
So I'm just gonna throw a score here and it is : Ghana 2-1 or 1-0.
That's just my opinion, USA has the potential to win by 2-0 or more and play really well like costa rica.
This world cup has become so unpredictable, the only games I predicted correctly were Colombia-Greece, Brazil-Croatia and Chile-Australia.

And even though those three were guessed right, there were long stretches in all of them where it looked like it would go a different way. All three losers put up a hell of a fight. This has been a great tournament and Group G games look to be just as amazing, and unpredictable.

    Head-to-head

    • Portugal have only won three of their 17 previous internationals against Germany (D5, L9).
    • The Germans have won their last three meetings - including the third place play-off match at the 2006 World Cup, which ended 3-1 following a Bastian Schweinsteiger brace and a Petit own goal for the Germans.

Don't agree that the loser of this game is out. The Portugal game is probably more critical. However, a result in this game is huge mentally. I believe this is the time we break the Ghana run. 2-1 USA.

Ghana better not sleep on this US team. Yes, Ghana has been successful against the U.S....and the U.S. just love to underestimate Ghana with their whole "it's a poor African country...of course we can beat them!" attitude (ignorance of footballing history, i call it..)...but, at the end of the day, the U.S. will make it's mark on this group.

The U.S. love to play to the level of their competition. If they're playing Algeria, they'll play to Algeria's level...but if they're playing Germany, they'll play to Germany's level. They're a tough out and if Ghana thinks for one second they're going to just come in have the game given to them...that's just not going to happen with team U.S.A.

My heart wants Ghana to win...but I also want USA to make it through. In my ideal world, somehow Ghana and US make it past Germany and Portugal. A draw would be an ok result for me....but if not, I'm thinking Ghana put 3 past the US with the Americans responding with 1 or 2 of their own.

Hopefully the U.S beat Portugal. Best group of the World Cup haha

Not true. Didier Drogba - scored in 7 major tournaments in a row. If he scores at this World Cup it'll be 8.
