Joey with a nice run and a great shot by Essien......Friedel saves.....corner......awful. Corners by Cole and SWP have been awful this game.
Was just going to say that. Patient and strong in the back, dangerous going forward. Already a couple crosses better than anything I've seen SWP hit in a blue shirt.
Everytime theres some slick passing and we are really looking good going forward, the ball goes to SWP and there it ends.

Well that was 45mins wasted for me. -Cech could've easilly sat down between the posts. -Essien, Joey, & Belletti are looking good. -Shev is trying, but not getting service. -Kalou and SWP are busy, but unimpressive -I keep seeing the lineup, and it shows Sidwell starting....but I'm not seeing him?
SWP has nooooo end product. He's been a play-killer pretty much every time he touched the ball today... Joe Cole and Belletti have been superb.
Nice first half. Chelsea did everything BUT score. Belletti is having a damn good game. As is Joe Cole. Hell even Sheva looks like a threat. Blackburn hasn't looked threatining all match.
We need to make the following changes: Mikel on for Sidwell Malouda on for SWP, goes to left wing. Joe Cole to right wing
we need to come out secondhalf the way we ended the first and go for them. hopefully sheva will have a bit of an owen and show us his talent. btw the picture quality on setanta is shit.....it's like watching the game on youtube

HT and I'm reminded why I think Friedel was the main reason the US made that 2002 WC run. We need JCole around the goal where his passing and dribbling can get someone behind Friedel. This is where we really miss a healthy Robben. Can't we just take out SWP for Malouda, and push JCole forward? ****ing SWP.

Sidwell has done nothing. He's been invisible and in an attacking sense he's the one staying back and Essien is making all the offensive moves. Mikel should come on. I really don't understand why we purchased Sidwell. A young attacking CM would have been a much better purchase. Someone who can actually do something with the ball. Instead we go for a English player who is part Parker and part Tiago, but so far, not as good as either.
Weird half. I'm in the second row of the shed, so everytime something happened on the left side of the pitch I kept hoping Friedel would sit down. We started tenatively but were by far the best side in the second part of the half. Finally got some movement going. As far as players - why did we buy Sidwell? He's replaced Diarra but his partnership with Essien offers little. I think Sidwell will come off for Mikel. The defense has looked good from what I can see. Belletti and SWP actually look good together. Sheva looks really short of confidence. He needs to score a few, although he does look in better shape. He's passing when he should shoot. Our corners today? Shocking. Can no one take a decent corner without Frank? FFS, let Belletti try. Hell, why not Alex? He's not bad on FKs and his height in the box doesn't help if the corner doesn't make it past the first man. This game is suited to Drogba - wide play and lots of crosses. But, um, he's not playing. Let's hope for better in the second half.
