I don't know how many people of Salvadorian descent live in Baltimore, but I do know that the state of Maryland has a higher population than the COUNTRY of El Salvador. FWIW.
the shots of the crowd show just how much blue there is at the game... in which case, i say we make this embarrassing for them.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I doubt the US has any choice in where the games are played. It is a CONCACAF tourney after all. It's not like this is a WCQ where we would be able to choose where it's played.
Complaining about the crowd is stupid, especially if you're not actually at the game to ensure one more US fan. Bottom line is there are tens of thousands of Salvadorans in the DC / Baltimore area, and even second and third generation fans are going to root for El Salvador over the USA.
Meh, doesn't really bother me that much. It is the largest Salvadorian population in the US, so it doesn't really surprise me that they all showed up.
We should have a stickied Gold Cup FAQ thread every time this tournament kicks off. First Question/Answer: Q: Why did they schedule this for X stadium where <Mexicans, Salvadorans, etc.) will buy all the tickets? A: CONCACAF schedules this tournament, not US Soccer.
