    Caro Cristiano Ronaldo,

Você é um herói para todos nós. Vá em frente, meu jovem.

    Atenciosamente,

    O Hachiko.

    Madoka? :D

Congratulations on advancing to the K.O. stage. Was disappointed by the rather lacklustre performance of the US. Maybe this was mainly due to strategic deliberation. I'm curious about how they will play against Belgium.

If he's like me, he's saying, "Forget this crap, turn on the other game."

Fun fact: my girlfriend works for the company that does all of their advertising, and I don't think Subway lets the company handle any of the creative. It's chaos.

I wouldn't read to much into that play to be quite honest. Missing a kick in one's box does not necessarily infer that the player in question was on the cusp of scoring an own-goal. He didn't hit the ball at all. You can't score an own goal unless you kick/touch the ball. He absolutely did the right thing in trying to get it out of there. Timing was just a tad bit off though.

Maybe. But it sure looked to me that he was lucky to miss it altogether and that if he'd hit it anything but perfectly, it was likely to end up in the back of the net.

But whatever. I think both guys are good players and did pretty well today. We advanced. That's what I care about.

Excuse, but Klose is merely tied for that record. With that qualifier, who even cares?

Dempsey's header was so close. And Bedoya's shot toward the end. Damn Lahm.

My USA team are in the Round of 16. A shame Japan didn't go through, but I see Zaccheroni on his way out.

Yeah, Japan was pretty underwhelming this time. Hope things will start to get better with the new coach.

Actually, my primary men's team is England, which doesn't change thing much, obviously. :ninja:

Let's hope that takes up a lot of your time, then.

Well, he will still be around at least until Euro 2016. And maybe it's OK to give him more time to integrate the young players and do something useful with them.

Yeah. I think Belgium will be a very tough task.

Gotta give it to our boys. Gave a late charge with Bedoya's blocked shot and Dempsey's header.
