Let’s hope Jahn shows something. Ive been very unimpressed by Rossetto and Castro. Granted first game in a weird season. But not a good debut.
71' still 1-0 Atlanta looking for something to change the tenor. Adam Jahn and Jake Mulraney about to come on for Bello and Rossetto. Pity Martinez is slow.
If I had a dollar for every time an Atlanta player dribbled into trouble I'd be buying drinks tonight.
This group doesn't even look like they want to score. They're not even making the attempt. Has Jahn even touched the ball?
Any chance we could trade Pity for Almiron plus a cash deal? Jeez, he plays like that one guy during a pick up game, who has no awareness that his teammates exist.
In his defense his attacking support has been piss poor. If this team had Nagbe and Josef it's completely different.
Maybe playing in Orlando during the dead of summer was not the best place to pick a tournament where there are no fans allowed. Everyone looks tired and cramped.
ouTube TV or regular YouTube? If it's regular, I'll know next time. I did the trial thing last year and I don't think I can do it again, regardless. It sucks to have to pay > $200 for cable because of multiple packages (the provider here groups soccer in the Latino package, because there's no way an English-only speaker would be interested, right?)
We had, what, two good crosses the whole game? And on one of them, we come about six inches from scoring a goal. What's the point of having a #9 if we don't feed him the football?
I had YouTube TV but they going up on their prices and outside of Atlanta United, USMNT, and college football, I don’t really watch tv. This tournament doesn’t really interest me that much anyways. So I’m waiting to see if I’ll spend the money.
Tonight basically another crotch-shot from 2020. This was the 1 match I wanted to win in Orlando. Pissed.
Jahn didn't come in until, what, 70'? Rossetto and Castro aren't near the target he is. So the attack strategy was different then. Plus RB:NY played their usual good D.
If he came in at the 70th minute, that was 27 minutes of football where I think he touched the ball once (and nearly scored).
The truth is that this was gonna be ugly but Atlanta looked better than all the other teams we've seen so far in this event, it's just RB was better tonight. Or at least faster and better in getting shots on target. As to the goal Meza was at fault but 9 times out of 10 that pass to Valot doesn't make it. Basically the teams combined for about 12 attempts at top-class passes and theirs was the only one that hit paydirt. Atlanta fought til the end and had some good chances, which is good. And clearly every team is rotating players both to experiment and save bodies, so it's gonna look and feel more like pre-season instead of the playoffs. I do think Atlanta gets better, and clearly not every opponent is gonna be like RB. Gotta win these next 2, tho.
I don't get it. We haven't done all that well v. RB, and their "style" isn't entertaining to watch, but we came out on top the only time it really mattered. That's the nature of a playoff league. MLS isn't giving us any reason to value the overall h-t-h. Similarly, if Po'lando City had beaten us in that USOC semi, it would have made all those other moments meaningless by comparison.
