Finally, a home win vs. a lesser opponent. It looked like a good bet we would yet again squander a strong first half and leave points on the table. Happy to see an overdue Bijev find the back of the net. Hope Klimenta returns to the starting lineup soon, but we especially need Taintor or Rodriguez to heal. The combination of Seilor, Schmidt and Hord all starting in the back makes me a bit nervous. OTH, the schedule is favorable, we're back in 3rd (although both 4th & 5th place have two games in hand) and we're only four points out. BTW, what the hell is the deal with our pitch this season? Is proper care of it another cost-cutting measure? It looks like crap. Makes us look second-rate.
I agree. Especially the east side of the field, just north of the mid-line. I don't think I saw a pass through that area that didn't start bouncing off the grass. Not a professional quality field at the moment.
I hate to type this but Fresno is not a lesser opponent, especially since they whipped on Sac-Town earlier this summer. Still I am happy with the win, but Sac-Town needs to work on their finishing. Should have won by 3 goals in this match.
