86' Rossetto comes off for Lopez. Atlanta has done real well in holding the ball this half. Their movement off the ball has made for easier passes, and the team has been smart in playing keep away.
Zelaryan is a little bitch. I've never seen them stall before, because we just haven't won that any games by a single goal, dating back to 2017.. A WIN!
Agreed that Barco worked very hard tonight. The team as a whole played very well, as the Valentino renaissance rolls on. The ball movement was very solid, and apart from about 30 minutes straddling halftime they did well in pressuring Columbus. Will offer more tomorrow, but drinks all around, 17's!
Sorry. I can not stand guys like Zelarayan and Lodeiro. Can't stand them. kicking the ball out of play and not getting carded? If Josef had done that, he'd have been carded. Same rules for everyone!
Thoughts from the morning after: - Let's pause to appreciate the hard work several lads put in holding the ball in the corner at the end, that's a thankless task and they had to fight off some really aggressive effort from the Crew players. I was LOVING that display! - Really can't praise enough the ball movement by Atlanta in that last 10 minutes or so. Sosa did really well in orbiting around the center of the pitch, making himself available for passes, and he and Rossetto seemingly found a sharper radar to ensure they weren't making silly passes. That read like a good, solid team display where everyone was on the same page. - I liked Valentino's personnel decisions last night. I think Torres can do well as a sub (provided they don't need goals!) and he worked hard to press Crew defenders and be available for passes. I thought the subs were all good calls and were spread out at just the right time to keep the pace of the match in Atlanta's favor. - Not the best display from Franco, and it's clear the central defenders need to learn to work with one another. Hopefully with everyone back and healthy (*knocks wood*) that will come over time.
That was Franco. I'm hoping that was simply a massive brain fart, because the dude had no shot at the ball and should've known where he was.
Am I the only one who has been really unimpressed by Franco so far? And yes, I'm being extra harsh because he's a DP.
Thankfully, this did not age well. I was at a black-tie military event, so I couldn't even check the scores on my phone. I'm sorry I missed it now. I watched the highlights, and the female Crew announcer is just awful. Glad to get a win, but I'd rather some more goals from the run of play. Lots of home games coming up, so let's get above the line!
I didn't hear her until I YT'd the highlights. I overslept my intent to go to a sports bar, so I was on 92.9. Those guys call it right.
He's definitely not measuring up to DP status, in my opinion. He has, however, shown more poise and skill than Meza, so I still have hope for him. Hasn't helped that the side has fielded so many different lineups this season, to say nothing of changing coaches.
