Ehh, I'd say the former are enjoying the moment, albeit in their own way. The latter are, however, just crushing realists. The Columbus fan who talked about the awkward feeling that winning while pissed at the FO/team brings nailed it spot on. It produced a feeling of, "I'm happy?" It's easy to enjoy the moment. Literally. The exact moment Pfeffer scored felt great! But, when all the evidence surrounding you suggests it's the exception rather than the rule, it's not hard to snap back to reality very, very quickly. So, I wouldn't necessarily shame a person for feeling something the 2015 Philadelphia Union have conditioned them to feel.

Anyone hear the in-game announcer refer to the stadium as Campbell's?

As someone that sits in 135, I can say that the drums are the ONLY reason we can keep with the chants most of the time. If not for the drums we would just be doing our own thing on our own time.

Now when there is a lot of away support? Their drums + our drums = a cluster......well you know. Honestly I think its easier for us to just chant along with the away support drums and just try to be louder lol

Also shout-out to Hoppenot staying on the bench last night. I will support that every time, too.

As they walked out, I had two thoughts:

Why did DC bring all the kids that they walked out with?

Handicams are not cheap, they will find a way to use that footage.

If an intern had to complete a post-win video for college credit, you can't fault them for making the most of this opportunity. Summer term might be ending before too many more.

I do have issues with Carroll, but I do not hate Fabinho. He has more ability in distribution than any of the team's outside backs.

    That's because he's a midfielder.

I noticed last night when Sylvestri would either throw or pass the ball out, the CB'S had no one to pass to....everyone was up with the forwards waiting for a hoofball! The Union as a team play very thin, we are constantly outnumbered everywhere!! Even our crosses were being hit into the box with Casey by himself, maybe LeToux....it wasn't until the dying minutes did we put numbers in the box and we got the goal.

It comes down to Curtin for me....I don't know what they do in training, but its not practicing supporting the ball or how to move down the pitch as a unit...Noguiera is always getting the ball with two or three guys surrounding him and no one around as an outlet...

If we're going to play long ball, then play long ball. If we're gonna play possession style then we need a better manager...last night it looked like they made up their mind and played it long and it worked out with Casey up front but too many times this season it seems unorganized with a kick and rush tactic that's amateurish at best...

Playing through the midfield we need to keep tighter lines with shorter passes...a well organized team is tough to beat. I don't see Curtin getting it done. Rant over...

Not a big fan of Carroll.
He's not even subtly effective IMO...
As a defender, he's guy capable of getting in someone's way...with the ball on his foot, don't expect anything.

    I don't mind Fabinho.
I mean he is what he is...I wouldn't play him full time at LB and expect to win games that way, but in a reserve role he's capable of attacking from the LB position.

If it were my team, Fabinho would get minutes...not sure if Carroll would. Giving the circumstances though...not sure we have a choice right now.

Sheannon Williams is probably the guy that everybody hates and I don't. I'm a lot higher on him than most.

Not a fan of Williams, used to be, but last 2-3 seasons his attitude has straight sucked along with his performance.

He had a heck of a game defensively yesterday. Not bad defending on the left. Made some key key killer tackles that i have to praise when moved back to the right.

I do believe that the Union provides the display children for both teams.

Random thoughts a day later, because I wanted to savor the win first:
    1) What did they put in Carroll's recovery drink? He was flying around out there and made way fewer bad passes than usual
    2) Can we start Fabinho on the left wing? I think he crossed into his defensive half a few feet maybe twice the entire time he was in there. You can tell he scares the defenders and he's willing to go for the cross or the cut in and provide an outlet when necessary. I just don't want him playing defense.
    3) They were covering mistakes, both their own and each other's. Mo had two bad clearances neither of which led to a shot on goal, since nothing led to a shot on goal
    4) This team is competitive enough to beat a really tired DC team. That's good to know. And it was fun. That's not enough though
    5) We've got pretty good depth at offensive midfield. And yet Wenger still starts in a slump.
    6) The defensive line, if you throw in Mo as first sub, is not bad. White had a good game. Vitoria and Marquez are both good when they play. Williams was above his average last night. Ray had a good game until he hurt himself.
    7) Chaco was really playing forward most of the first half, but he's not yet good at staying on side. Maybe we should try two up front permanently and try some other folks at forward - Chaco or Pfeffer?
    8) Think about it, Nando and Chaco up front, Fabinho and Ayuk on the wings, some combination of Nogs, Pfeffer, Mo, and Casey in the middle with the ones out of that group you don't use, plus LeToux and Wenger as bench options? But I'd still like another pure striker.

I do think Casey is the most consistent and plays smart considering he is more of a motorcycle mechanic these days but seriously, his beard is worth a starting spot. who else do you put up there? Williams longish throw has lost speed and 5 yards or so...go look at 2011-12 videos.

remember when our defense was our saving grace? what the footy happened?

Will we forever be upset with this team? the first 3 years I was so pumped and supportive, now I am bald, fat and an alcoholic and blame the Union for it all.

funny that it takes a backup NASL keeper to bring a possession, play thru the back, style to the Union

True. But DC was wearing Red and White and so were the children. I think it was a Wells Fargo promotion - based on the big logo on the shirts - nothing gets past me.

I think they should either be Union or Union and Opponent. Having them all look like our opponent was bad form. If that was the only thing I had to complain about, I would be ecstatic.

idk, I know we like to complain, but it's sponsorship dollars... the whole argument is pretty silly... the kids are nothing more than tiny walking billboards, lets not look too much into it.

All nationally televised games have the player escorts wearing the wells fargo outfit now. That started last season at the all star game.

Fair play to you. It was a just result. While there seem to be myriad problems with your club, don't underestimate the value of nabbing a victory just when it seemed that a good effort would come for naught. We'll be seeing you at RFK pretty soon and it will be a real battle. I hope you all will be there.
