Is Caleb Stanko on the take? Jesus, he's been dreadful so far. Two awful give-aways and another time losing his mark and casually letting him march in for a 1-v-1 shot on goal (that the Korean attacker thankfully shanked).
Pineda with a decent run from the left flank, cuts in and hits a shot on-goal. Not a very hard shot but a decent effort.
Curious strategy by Tab. Has a tiny lineup out there in attack, with forwards that aren't very big, and the US keeps hitting long balls forward, with predictable results. If you're gonna play like this, a bigger forward is warranted.
Yeah, it's been poor. Both sides sloppy, with Korea slightly less so than the US as the half ends 0-0.
Not by South Korea anyway. If we play like this against France and Spain, though.............................. I mean, the majority of posters have virtually all of this starting XI on the World Cup roster. This is a good part of our team, and we look pretty devoid of ideas here. Do Villarreal and Gil mean this much to us. Let's hope not.....................
We're playing like a team who's looking forward to the World Cup, playing in a tournament that has 40 minute halves that they've already been eliminated from. Exactly like that.
Sorto with a sloppy turnover, Stanko has to foul outside the box to breakup the chance. Free kicked cleared easily. EDIT: and Sorto with another give-away but Korea pass goes long and into touch. Sorto not helping his chances.
Nice dribbling by Danny Garcia - ahem, FC Dallas! - creates a chance for Pineda, now on the right flank, that goes high.
Garcia with a nice cross right to Pienda but an open Pineda heads RIGHT to the GK and the US can't pounce on the rebound. Best chances coming from Garcia. I'd say he's made the team that goes to Turkey.
Pineda looks good. It'll be interesting to see who earns that starting striker spot between him, Rodriguez, and Hernandez. Danny Garcia's activity out there is great despite wildly taking a few of those shots outside the box. I like how O'Neill helps build up from the back with some solid long passing.
Was critical of Stanko in the first half so must point out he just did well to breakup a Korean scoring chance.
Cuevas with a nice run down the left flank (he and Pienda appear to have switched sides and the IS more dangerous) but his shot in the box is blocked. US looks MUCH better so far this half.
