If I'm a SKC fan (shoot me if this happens, btw) then I'm asking what in the actual ******** was the approach here. Melia, in particular, had multiple chances to kill off the attack and kept pushing it back into dangerous positions. Zusi being lazy as shit about getting forward was great, too. He went ape shit on Unkel after the game. He isn't gonna love film review when they go "hey, if you step up while that ball floated in the air, or when Everton scuffed it, or even when Meram does a weird bike... Kreilach would have been off"
Zusi was listed as questionable on the injury report before the game with the injury being a lower body issue. I wonder if he was just out of gas by that point in the game.
BTW, should Herrera be that far back? He’s keeping Mendoza on. Or should Glad be marking Mendoza closer?
no, thats poor positioning. On a dead ball, no less. Silva is completely flat footed, too. The only player that is doing the right thin (Glad) ends up doing the very wrong thing (handling) but gets away with it
BTW, in the pregame show Nolly said, ‘If RSL can keep it close I believe they will push at the end and get the win’. Pretty bold.
Is it though? I thought I heard a stat during the broadcast that RSL has the most goals scored after the 80th minute or something like that.
They also said that in the last 30 minutes of games, SKC had scored 21 goals over the course of the season, compared to 10 scored against them. So, go figure.
The only thing that makes our goal better, is if you play Yakity Sax over the top of it. It's a comedy of errors that turns into a goal. It's one of the best worst goals I've seen.
Pretty amazing that among all the fallout across the league because of the non-call on Glad for the penalty, that Pablo getting the permanent gig is another thing to add to the list. (Not certainly I know, but it seems likely to me now.)
Didn’t know where to put this, so selected this thread. I was looking forward to the RSL Soapbox podcast reviewing the SKC game. It dropped yesterday. I could only listen to a few minutes of it. One of the hosts seemed to be gasping for breath the entire time and his mike was on. Stomach noises were also very audible. It was unbearable. If anyone listens to the whole thing please post some cliffs (but not of their “Social Hour”). Has anyone here done podcasting? Don’t the hosts typically review them for quality prior to publishing them?
I have tried multiple times to listen to both the RSL podcast and Soapbox but find them both borderline insufferable which is harsh for sure but I do give them props for making a podcast. Just don't criticize them on twitter. They get really upset and talk about you on their podcast. Of course you have to listen through what they had for dinner to get said criticism. I don't have any podcasting experience but as a fan and a human I feel compelled to create one. Legally I think we're all obligated to have a podcast at some point. I do have a great idea for a podcast. And by great I mean a regular podcast but one that I do with a fellow RSL fan. Minus stomach noises hopefully. Again, props to the guys for their podcasts. They're right there behind the Bleeding Claret and Cobalt podcast for best RSL podcast.
I haven't listened to the interview yet, but apparently Dunny reported there was a potential ownership group at the last home game. He also thinks the coaching change won't happen until the ownership group is in place. 1457882759427358721 is not a valid tweet id
Oof. Not a good game to attend. Edit: On second thought, maybe it was the best game to attend. To watch Pablo get so thoroughly outplayed that hiring him a is a non-starter despite squeaking out a last minute spot in the playoffs.
This is the result of them likely wearing a headset and the mic being below their nose. This happens all the time on work calls and it drives me ABSOLUTELY NUTS. I have asked people to move their mic above their noses more than I can count. The offenders don't realize they're doing it. They're just breathing. But because of the proximity to their mouth/nose and the sensitivity of the mic, it picks it up and makes it sound like they're having some type of episode. So, yeah, I only made it through 3 minutes before I couldn't take it anymore. I can't stand listening to people breathe like that. Random side story: David Archuletta, when he was on American Idol, was the one who really brought this phobia (?) or at least heightened awareness that I have. The guy breathes SO HEAVILY between lines he sings that I would mute the tv or change the channel even if I wasn't in the same room
There are only about five guys who posted about the RSL SKC game over on the KC board, but they all seem pretty down on Vermes. I thought the guy was much-loved over there, but it sounds like maybe not so much?
There's been a lot of complaining by SKC fans on Reddit that Vermes has run the team into the ground again due to his lack of substitutions. One thought is he doesn't trust the bench, but he assembled the team and should know his guys' abilities. There was one game this year where Vermes didn't use a single substitution.
That's consistent with what they were yammering about on the SKC board. It looked to me like everyone on both teams was gassed by the end of Sunday's game, so I guess it's not surprising that Zusi and the boys were all flat-footed right at the end.
