Oh, I completely agree The team should fight to win. We gain nothing by being a team that tanks in MLS. There isn't a draft worth getting a top pick for and the you-suck money doesn't seem to really tip the scales. I'm more taking the perspective of should I cheer for wins. I know that sounds bad, but I've watched teams throw Band-Aids on bad teams/clubs in the past and it just prolongs the inevitable shakeup. A playoff appearance, at just that, isn't worth saying many of the folks should retain their jobs.
So the question really is? Is it better to lose now to gain later, or to keep trying to win no matter what?
Toia bizarrely pulled out of that challenge. Holt overcommiitted and let the left footed player go to his left into the wide open center. Still a pretty goal but wow did we help.
With 3 in the back Meram is supposed to come back and cover the left. Instead he’s at the 18. edit- this was several minutes prior to the goal, so not related to it.
Dunny really is getting tired of some of the poor play. In discussing 3 vs. 4 man back lines, he just said that if they're going to defend like we did on the first goal, that we can put eight men back there and it won't make a difference.
I just don't think we have enough players on the field that are used to defending. Let alone enough good defenders. Tactics plays a role, but you have to put the right player in the best position first.
He needs to start being more invisible in the attack. Alone up front with defenders focused on him stunts his effect. Maybe Wood up front with Rubio would be good.
Again, why doesn't Albert shoot more? What has taken him so long this season? More please. It's really good. Well so much for that lead. Can we get someone else in for Meram?
We've used two of our three sub windows at the 46th minute, and it will be interesting to see if/when we sub again (who and how many).
