I love how Match 8 occurs before 5, 6, and 7 AND it's in an earlier alphabetical group (B instead of C and D). I get either of those facts being true, based off how FIFA has numbered matches in the past. My brain simply cannot comprehend the numbering here, but it all leads to Match 8 being next on the docket!

Well to say there’s a lot going on at 14’ is an understatement.

Live call of penalty is good. Presume yellow for DOGSO if this stands. But I thought it looked offside…?

    Was that not offsides twice?

And then you have some obvious questions about head injury and allowing him to continue playing, but that’s not Martinez’s call.

Do we praise the AR for keeping the flag down on a play that really looked offside in real time? Or did he just keep his flag down because he knew it would be checked?

First one seemed on. Second one sure looked off.

I’d love to see that AI image they’ve shown a lot in Champions League games.

I may need to watch again -- was it really an OGSO? The player he fouled wasn't going to score. The ball was gone.

I missed it. Did the foul occur before any offside? Or was he onside?

That’s inherently a DOGSO. Ball wasn’t gone. In fact he waited to call the penalty because there still was sort of a potential for the ball to end up in the net.

Foul definitely did not happen before any offsides if there was any offsides.

Went back to look on my phone. Its closer than I thought but I still would have guessed offside. Especially without an English style margin of error.

In a truly objective world, I probably think yellow is harsh. But I also think that DOGSO is just the expected call on a keeper foul as last man on anything other than a missed shot.

I do think there's a chance that he would have recovered that ball if not fouled -- but not sure about obvious.

The yellow jerseys + yellow GK rookie stuff. Also interesting they’re watering field at water break. Wonder if it’s a way to help preserve the field or to cool it off at field level.

Yeah, after seeing the first replay and his head snapping back, I really didn’t need to see the other angles……..
