    Wow.

Argentina has an unbeaten streak spanning dozens of games that include a Copa America win, favorites for the WC and they lose their opening game to...

    Saudi ********ing Arabia.

I think that the coach actually told Saudi Arabia to allow for corners!

The Saudis cheer as if they won the cup.

    I understand them.

Lesson of the day, you have the bragging rights at the end of the tourmament if you actually win it, meanwhile, respect everyone and don’t say your team will show the real football

Congrats to Saudis and good luck for Argentina in the next matches, nothing is done yet at all!!

Both Poland and Mexico have what it takes to beat Argentina, so looking very tough.

What a thriller of a game! Always felt Argentina was over hyped.

Congratulations to Saudi Arabia. I wanted to see them trounced but as the game went on, I couldn't help root for them.

My commensurations, btw, to Argentina fans especially @Christina99.

    Same issue as always:
    Poor defence.
    Mediocre midfield.
    Lightweight players.

    But Renard masterclass coaching.

I think so as well, they have so much quality it would be incredible if they can’t go through.
    Future will tell.

This group went from being relatively easy to predict to being completely wide open. Any two can advance at this point. Not sure what to make of this from a Danish perspective.

they need to relax a bit when defending, the goals they conceded were silly. Finally a decent arab team in this WC, im happy for the saudi's they were used to getting manhandled every single WC

Argentina was without a deeper creator. Saudi Arabia advanced the marking and the midfielders were unable to maintain possession and distribute the ball. Paredes and De Paul very badly.

Scaloni left Di María stuck on the right wing. He should have retreated to the middle. To help the midfielders to create.

There you see the importance of players like Pirlo and Modric against teams that use high pressure

The most embarassing performance in history of argentinian NT.

The world cup is over for Argentina. Not mathematically of course but mentally.

The unbeaten run had to end sometime, better now than in the knockout stage I guess. What an upset, gotta love it cheers to Saudi Arabia for the win

I honestly cannot believe this. I didn't expect a thrashing and thought maybe 4-1 to Argentina but definitely didn't expect this. Argentina is way too predictable in attack. It reminds me a lot of Italy's problems in the past many years.

Enzo Fernandez should have started, he's the most in form midfielder by a mile and the only one capable of playing as you say.

Maybe, with a few changes in the lineup, but the dream of fighting for the title is gone regardless.
