Minor detail, but... why was Argentina wearing blue shorts (instead of the black) if there was no color clash?

After the England-Germany game, all the neutral fans want to see Argentina-Germany in the QF.

Actually, I kind of like the WC to surprise me when my teams are not in it. That said, Argentina-Germany does look like a monster. The German team was ferocious today. I know everyone is saying the English defenders looked bulky and slow, but the German setups were electrifying - almost like one-timers on grass.

I much enjoyed Tevez's bomb and Hernandez's sweet first step, separation and score. I thought 3-1 was a fair result because Osorio's breakdown was inexcusable and I was surprised to see on the replay that Barrera had not actually scored (I thought it was the replay bug biting again...).

I hope that the young Mexican players take this incident, hold onto it, and use it as motivation to fuel their resolve in 4 years' time.

Yeah, that really bugged. Marquez, omg, not sure how he still plays with Barcelona.

After watching that game Argentina looks great. I loved that goal by Tevez. It was a good game but once again we had a bad call ruin what should have been a hard fought game.

I saw only one, that I recall. Tevez's goal.

Mexico had two great shots, but one was accented by the keeper's error. The other, rightly, was a goal.

I hope people remember how well Mexico started this game. The Lampard goal was a bigger officiating error, but I believe this mistake had a bigger impact. Maybe Mexico wouldn't have beaten a strong Argentina, but upsets like that are the most memorable part of the World Cup.

There's no upside in this. Mexico doesn't need this to be motivated for the next cup. Mexicans are always passionate about football. I wish the USA had their record of making the second stage so consistently.

It's a shame that Mexico was denied the chance to show their best and the first 10 minutes with two unchallenged shots, with one hitting the cross bar and the other barely missing the far post, gave us a glance at what they could have showcased. Of course, Argentina would have had to play a lot harder and completly a different game. The second goal pretty much sealed the faith of the game.

I just hope we don't see anymore fuk-ups from here since IMHO, it's been one of the worst and scandleous world cups ever so far.

Blatter apologizes to England, Mexico for errors:

Better technology may be used to fix errors in the future. I support it.

I would prefer that goal to be invalidated, and the two Mexicans who attacked Messi to get red cards.

Better technology would remove the chances of bad teams to score by arbitrage errors.

Just for the record we also eliminated you in the last Copa America 3-0. So three times in recent history, not to mention the 4-0 friendly, but that was just a friendly.

Yeah, I know that. But I was referring to losing twice in a row in World Cup matches.

Does anyone know what happened right after the halftime whistle? Looked like scuffling on the bench. I saw Marquez pulled off of someone and the refs waded into the middle of it. What was that fight about?
