Well, there goes that idea! Now how many more? There will be a few more similar tackles/fouls before this is over. PH
Over-under on the time the ball is actually in play these last 30 minutes is 12 minutes, and I may very well take the under on that assuming the score stays 1-0 Italy for a while.
Twellman seems to think that every decision a referee makes in a game should be in a vacuum. Brych gave the yellow card to Busquets in the 50th minute because the game needed it. With everyone going full throttle right now, there is no need for a caution.
I have to think the Italians would have protested that one more on the other end. Not a handball though.
Just realizing now the ARs have it on also, which I guess your pluralization signaled. Has to be by design. And nope, never seen it. Very strange.
We'll find out tomorrow if Makkelie and Co. are wearing it. I have to think it is by design, but they usually have the respect logo on their uniforms on the shoulder anyways. I guess it is not big enough?
Now I'm confused. There is a law change between the 2020-21 version and 2021-22 version that reads that a player's arm should be judged in relation to their body movement in a particular situation when determining if an arm makes a body "unnaturally bigger." The announcer referred to that change. What do I have wrong?
One for the old-timers: Has Taylot T become the new "Old Onion Bag" of ESPN? Really irritating listening to him. I would mute, but Champion is good. PH
The scenario was already specifically allowed in 20/21. No offense if: when a player falls and the hand/arm is between the body and the ground to support the body, but not extended laterally or vertically away from the body So the language did change to become more sensible/inclusive but does not itself do what Twinkleman says it does. Knows enough to be dangerous, that one does.
I can't help but wax nostalgic about Tommy Smyth. Along with Derek Rae, they were the announcers who called ESPN's Champions League broadcasts when I lived in Europe and soccer was one of the few things on in English.
