Alan Shirer said that there is supposed to be a red card for handball.

I wondering is it valid assertion

    Poor call on the offside.

If you mean by people intentionally losing/tying to avoid Brazil, that is not going to happen. None of the teams there are already qualified, the only one that could possibly play for the tie is Chile and that is dangerous because they could still lose out if they lose. A tie guarentees them first place anyway. I think everybody in that group will be going for a win.

He's a forward, of course he thinks that :D

Look through the thread, it was a call that could have gone either way.

In real time, I thought Ronaldo was gesturing for a card as he was falling down. I'm glad the replay showed he was just calling attention to the fact that he was going to fall down.

I'm well versed on the possibilities and the history (see my sig, and my wife is Chileana). I was simply pointing out the effect this match has on another group unlike most of the other matches played this last 3 days.

Dunga's hypertension can't be good for his longevity.

LOL at John Harkes saying Brazil and Portugal usually match up in a semi-final or even final.

They've played one World Cup match before and that was a group game.

Brasil without Kaka and Robinho is quite bad.

That is pretty terrible, but as I've said at least once before, Harkes is a Broadcasting Hall of Famer compared to Marcelo Balboa four years ago.

It almost seems that both teams rather not play Spain in the next round...

Man, Univision just showed an awesome shot of the crescent moon rising over the stadium.

Definitely worthy of the highlight reel for this match.

He seems to be going downhill as the tournament goes on...or at least since Wednesday morning.
