Well, with this result Spain avoids Brazil in what I thought would be a Quarter-Final and goes to the other side of the bracket.

We could have a Brazil-Spain final after all.

If you told me 8 years ago that Italy would miss 2 WC's in a row, and Germany would miss two 2nd rounds in a row, I would have said you are BAT.SHIT.CRAZY

I hope Spain gets beaten by Morocco

They should have fought way harder. As much as I enjoy Neuer being upset that was BS from Spain and I hope they get beaten badly

    Screw them

I agree! I have never seen such arrogance in my life! It can be matched only by France playing with their B Team against Tunisia.

I don't think it's only about your team.
I think they prefer to play Morocco Portugal France-England than Croatia Brazil Argentina-Netherlands.

There have been too many low scoring games for me to say best World Cup ever but the surprises have made it one of the most entertaining.

    Look at the brackets

This WC could be become boring very easily and quickly

Netherlands, Argentina, France, England, Brazil, Croatia, Spain, Portugal are semifinalists in the last 4 world cups

Germany Italy Uruguay and Belgium being the others with 3 of them being eliminated

Germany being eliminated because both teams in the other game were satisfied with the score. Cry me a river; this has been 40 years in the making. Shame of Gijon karma.

No? I thought I saw grass between the ball and the line--meaning out. It won't show the video in the States.

It's another gap in soccer officiating--there should be cameras on the end lines precisely for plays like this, because they are common in the game with forwards regularly driving toward the back line and trying to get a cross off before the ball crosses the line.

The same thing occurred in the Belgium--Costa Rican game. De Bruyne sent a cross into the box that Lukaku should have headed in--but the ball looked out before De Bruyne hit it.

I have no idea if the ball was completely out or not, but how do you conclude there was a clear and obvious error?

That has to do with angles. In the tiktok video the camera angle is right over the goalline and you can clearly see it didnt cross the line.

BTW why wont the video play for you??

It was probably completely out at one point but camera has refresh rates and no frame captured the moment. If physicists ran VAR they might have ruled it out. But jocks are running it.

The photo - ie. a frame closest to the moment of contact - shows that a very very small part of the ball is within the white line paint in vertical projections. But from the physics of it it probably was completely out between the frames. But VAR is run by jocks not physicists.

If the VAR isnt 100% conclusive then the call on the field stands

That is one hell of disrespecting Newton. Camera itself is not the evidence. You determine what happened based on the camera. It is quite obvious that the ball was out between the frames. The space between the ball and the foot is quite visible and the ball was just barely touching the outside of the white line paint.

Once again I know these jocks running VAR, I am not going to make an issue out of it. They won't be convinced. But if this were 2002 and the one benefited were Korea there would have been cries of cheating and Chinese would have rioted against Korean residents in China and Black thugs in NYC would have beaten up old Asian ladies.

Its extremely close, but the ball has to be completely over the line, which it isnt
