I hope that Klose get to start w Podolski vs England.

Cacau left something to be desired!:(

Anyone know if Schweinsteiger is hurt? Or was Lowe just taking no chances. He was holding under his butt-! Get back on these questions!

BTW...glad to see ...I believe it was Jansen...really cut down "Prince"...Boateng-w a good, hard, clean tackle!

Also--I hope vs England ...Badstuber gets his job back-!

Jerome Boateng gave so many balls...away! With some 'breaks"..Ghana coulda had a goal or two--! Good game by Neuer-!

So Germany wins the group and has to face England and possibly Argentina, while Ghana gets the US and the Uruguay/S Korea winner. Seems like Germany got the worst of it? Had Ghana tied it up, it would have been the opposite.

Well done to Germany for the win today.

Well done to Germany and Ghana for progressing. Ghana must be licking their lips at the upcoming draw with USA next followed by a possible Uruguay or South Korea. Good luck!

How about Jerome Boateng and Cacau paint their faces white and wear blond wigs? Would that make you happy? :D

    Thanx.

Based on our tonight's performance (we were almost as bad as against Turkey in the EC 2008 semi-final), you might have preferred Germany ... don't you? ;) But well, taking revenge for your defeat in Nuremberg 2006 (when I saw you losing 1:2 against Ghana due to a dubious pk) should really motivate your guys! :))

Well, Germany often loses when playing well and wins when being poor ... so I take the latter option this time, since failing in the group stage would have been a real disaster for us. Who knows, maybe our guys just wanted to bluff the English...:D

Congrats also to Ghana (which was the expected tough opponent) for being the first African team of this tournament to advance.

To be honest...Ghana, the USA, South Korea and Uruguay should ALL be licking their lips. Hard to believe one of them is guaranteed to be in the quarterfinal when the other group consists of Argentina, England, Germany and Mexico.

that's what I love about this tournament - one of either Uruguay, Ghana, South Korea or USA is going to make the semis (I hope it's the latter. :p) while only one of England, Argentina or Germany will make the semis. You can maybe even add Holland/Italy/Brazil/Spain to that list too....

Yea. I'm sure Ghana is happy with the way things turned out. You noticed they kinda stopped playing the last 10-15 minutes or so?

It was quite risky though...Serbia was one goal away from advancing...

Should we go past England & Argentina, I'm gonna make another trip to San Paolo! ;) If we play as we did last night and if Schweinsteiger should really be out with injury, we won't stand a chance...

Btw: What a disgrace for your Italian team today. Did Marcello Lippi really need ruining his good name?

We have been arguing about this on the Italian forum. My personal view is that we certainly had the players to do better than this. They just did not perform. For some reason they seemed to not take any of the teams seriously (expect for Paraguay) until it was too late. The lack of effort was just disgusting today.:(
