Ok, we're not scoring in this match. If we can't score off of *those* chances, we can't score.

US looks like they will score pretty soon. Algeria would be happy to go into the half with the scores level.

I'm watching on Telemondo but don't speak Spanish, but the called back goal looked on-side to me. Do we have to win by two goals in order to win by one at this World Cup?

Happy that the 12th man kept them in it, you mean.

A win and the US is in, regardless of the score in the England/Slovenia game.

and sad that they hit the cross bar on a golden chance -- although US so far definitely shouldve scored one (excluding the shit call)

Na, all we have to do is win. Period. Something that most of us Americans are use to with American Football, win and you're in :)

USA just needs to stop doing crosses, they suck at them and don't know where to put the ball. They only get shots when they attack head on.

That Algerian should have gotten a yellow... that would have been his second.

Edu is having problems with the neat ball. He is good with the simple and obvious, but that final, slick, pass needs to appear.

The television here is showing the England-Slovenia match, although I would have preferred seeing the US-Algeria game. Midway in the game I am watching, the commentator mentioned something like the score in the US-Algeria match is 0:0 with Algeria having 52% possession and 8 shots to 3 US shots. Reading the comments here, it seems that the tempo of the game has changed to favor the US. Any short recap of what is going on would be much appreciated.

i think the US is crossing because algeria only has a back 3. they're also crowding the midfield which could well be forcing the US to the wing.

Algeria are one of those "frustrate the heck out of you" teams and will play anti-football all the way...If they are playing like this, i hope the US wins...

It seems like the match could go either way. US seems more dangerous in the final third. The second half should be very entertaining(for the neutrals).
