56' 3-0 Portugal beat North Korea's high trap above box top, roll a ball down box left edge into #23 Fábio Coentrão's stride. He slides to it at 6m and crosses high to 7m center, where #18 Hugo Almeida is all alone, and leaping-heads back against the angle of #1 Ri's leap.

60' 4-0 Portugal beat North Korea's high trap at 25m, roll a ball down box left edge as #7 Cristiano Ronaldo runs slightly inside-out to gather it at box top left. He drives down left edge a couple of steps, uses his first teammate's run through the center as a decoy, and crosses behind him to box top arc right foot. #19 Tiago one-touches with right instep, skitters along wet grass to mid-right low, and a sprawling #1 Ri Myong-Guk palms it, but can't keep it out -- pushes it (Portugal's) right side netting.

The only bright spot for North Korea now is the J-League product Tae-Se.

Well, it's easy to smile at a miss when you're up 4.

I don't recall the last time I've seen him play this unselfishly. He should have 3 assists right now.

Hugo Almeida is now in the books.

Also, Jong Tae Se is NOT leaving the pitch until he gets his goal! You can tell Tae Se wants it.

Ronaldo, off the crossbar. On a day when everyone else scores for Portugal.

So now Cote d'Ivoire is basically out, so much for the African teams "at home".
Only Ghana with chances to progress.

very few teams can bunker well ... it's not easy, but it does require different skill set

I know there's a golden shoe for the player who scores the most goals.. but is there some sort of an award for the player who hits the woodwork the most? If so Christiano Ronaldo would most certainly be in the running for that one.....

In the bigger picture that's a good thing- see this scoreline. Also a bit scary because with his talent he's a powder keg waiting to explode with goals.

How long till CR7 dives his way to a penalty just to get that goal.

That's ridiculous. It's by far the easiest strategy to implement.

    Good showing by Simao today.
