Damn, Japan messed up. Costa Rica actually has better shot to progress, as they could play for draw and hope Spain beats Japan.

No, Germany 3 GS, 3 GA, while Japan 2 GS, 2 GA. Only if GS equal than HH.

    No, it won't.

    Germany 3 goals scored
    Japan 2 goals scored

Japan needs to scored one more goal.

I messed up. Germany can still go through with 1 goal margin even if Japan tie with 1-1 2-2 3-3 ... Germany need to win by 2-1 3-2 4-3 etc. respectively.

Anyway the scenario in which Spain field the bench is out of question. Spain now have a non-negligible chance of being knocked out if they lose.

Yeah I'm going to Spain v Japan so was watching these games with keen interest. The problem is final group games (I only got one) can be hit and miss. They can be complete dead-rubber games (ie Egypt v Saudi Arabia 2018) or they can be winner takes all/ loser goes home thrillers. This game both teams will need a result so it'll be a good game hopefully. Although, the ball is very much in Spain's court as it stands....

I am in the US and I don't watch the games. Instead I hear the neighbors' reactions and make the guess. In 2010 there was a Turkish neighbor and I heard 2 cheers when the match between Korea and Greece was taking place. After the match I checked and Korea won 2:0. Turks and Greeks.... no love lost.
