Thats what Italy gets for diving, karma is a b****. Hard work for NZ, they showed alot of heart and desire to win, if Italy put the same effort into it instead of trying to get calls their way they wouldve won. NZ was 1 foot away from winning when that ball went just to the right side of the post. Go WHITES!!!

Congratulations to New Zealand on getting the result. They fought their hearts out and for that deserved the tie. Best of luck with the final game!

If it weren't for a gift, New Zealand could have even gotten the 3 points. I won't argue much on that, though, since this is still the biggest result in Kiwi football history.

Brilliant result and great game by New Zealand. What an immense mental strength they showed out there, keeping their defensive shape right to the end. Fantastic.

What to say about Italy? The most creative aspect of their game today was, well let's just say it wasn't their football. I guess you could say they took a fall and couldn't get up.

I agree. They deserved the draw.

    Azzurri should be ashamed.

Finally a really great story for this World Cup. A country with no pro league and a player from USL:eek: Too bad we couldn't hear their fans freaking out.

Without a Pirlo or Totti to make defense-breaking passes on the ground, Italy ended up having to resort to the aerial game and individual dribbling, which played to New Zealand's strengths (size and athleticism). Montolivo was lively at times, but no other Italian displayed much creativity.

Ryan Nelsen was dominant, NZ keeper also had a good game. They held on much better than I expected.

My heart skipped a beat as I saw his shot go at the post. For a split second I thought it'd go in

That'd really shaken things up quite a bit

Congratulations to the New Zealanders!Hard fought draw! They kept their composure(the defense in particular) on the countless Italian attacks.Very good goalkeeping by Mark Paston by the way, especially that one handed save on a Montolivo shot. Also it has to be said,Well done Ricky Herbert.

I thought there was supposed to be no trolls?

All of the ESPN analysts were saying NZ's goal was offside. The anti-Italian sentiment is just disturbing. Love how the mods don't do anything about it though.
