You must have a pretty poor life if this is your line of work. What must have happened to that Korean to persist with this. Has a Japanese girl rejected him once or something?

Measures have been taken. Whether they'll work or not is another thing.

    * Oxygen masks from now til 26th
    * 26th: Go to Saas Fae in switzerland for an altitude training camp 1850m high.
    * 2 warm-up games at altitude (England, Ivory Coast)
    * Game against Cameroon in group stage at 1500m

Then all this followed by a sea-level game against the netherlands. About a months worth of altitude training before the netherlands.

I can only imagine how much better we would be with a world class striker.

Imagine Japan with a great finisher like v. Persie, or Eto'o.

I have a feeling v. Persie will struggle our defense big time.

Japan is the weakest team among AFC participants.

I wonder how many goals Van Persie is gonna score against.

I predict that he will score a hattrick.

And Kuyit will score a goal.

That's hard, but it has to be against Japan. I don't see a hattrick against Denmark or Camaroon.

maybe but Robben was topscorer of Bayern Munchen and is in a real flow. Kuyt scores difficult. I would bet Robben scores a goal earlyer than Kuyt

Yes, may be Robben has more chance to score than Kuyit.

Japan has some quality players but Netherlands has a quality team with some big name stars... whether or not they'll play well together remains to be seen (looking ok so far), but Netherlands should come away with a relatively easy win... I think 3-1 for Netherlands...

It seems to be a Korean guy who changes names all the time to bash Japan. For me as a dutch fan he spoils the thread as the only contribution is that Holland will kill Japan with ease. There is zero analyses to it and it is pretty biased to me.

I can only say that Japan is so unlucky to be grouped here. The only chance seeing japan going through to the next round is if they're in group C.

Holland will definitely show no mercy on japan and trash them like 6-0
japan defence isn't just good enough to hold the dutch strikers. I think this japan team is the weakest from their previous squad. :D

It seems people are writing Japan off based on their lost friendlies.

Final scores are not telling everything. I remember Oranje having more trouble against Japan than any of our other opponents except Mexico in our friendly matchups.

Japan has a very fluid & fast passing game which could upset a lot of countries IF they can find a way to finish chances.

I see 6-0 predictions flying all over the place..... Could it happen? Yes, anything can happen. But will it? Not very likely, AT ALL.....

there is not much you can take from friendlies, its where the managers try to figure out what works and what doesn't, there's nothing on the line, win or lose doesn't matter, you only try to avoid injuries... you come away with a win, great, but it doesn't matter...

that said, I don't think Japan has a bad team and I don't think 6-0 is realistic... Japan will start out strong but half-way through second half run out of steam... as I said before, I'm guessing 3-1 Netherlands... most likely we will be in control for most of the game...

Japans midfield is one of the best in the world but their defence and attack is not. They don't finish and they allow to many goals in. They play game I must say as Mexico does.

De Jong and Van Bommel will break those Japanese midfielders in half.

Let's hope they don't. They'll get red cards for doing that.

I will counter everyone's prediction and say Japan will win 6-0.

And the Netherlands are more likely to get injured because well...you guys ALWAYS get injured. A couple of days ago I was thinking, "Wow! All these high profile teams are losing players to injury but the Dutch have yet to have a player injured. It must be a miracle!"

Then Robben goes and gets injured the next day.

And the day after that day the news is Robben might actually make the match against Denmark.

    Talk about miracles! :D

I'm already writing Japan off not because of pre-tournament friendlies, but because they always do badly against opposition from outside Asia (and even in Asia they are second to Korea and Australia).

Against other teams, such as Slovenia, Algeria, Slovakia, New Zealand, Denmark, South Africa (etc) they could probably make a good show, but not against a top 10 in the world team such as the Netherlands. Will the score be 6-0? Oh goodness no, not that high. But I am expecting a comfortable 3/4-0 win for the Netherlands.

The Netherlands isn't so strong? Personally, I think they are third in line together with Argentina behind Spain and Brazil. Argentina has some real good players, but their national team, especially under Maradonna, is not playing superb.
