It's game day . . . so the Game thread is open.

This should be an entertaining match, Netherlands s capable of winning this but I wouldn't underestimate the discipline of the Japanese game.

We played them in a friendly a while ago and although we won 3-0, it was a very difficult game. I think underestimation will not be an issue.

    Still a tough game.

Not even. Japan and Korea have proved they can go toe to toe sometimes.

I expect Netherlands to win, but not without a fight.

2-0 Netherlands. Hopefully there will be no injuries in this game.

  7. Hopefully Nigel "the Lunatic" de Jong takes notice of the easy card showing by the referees and keep his dumb ass fouls at home:mad:

Both teams testing the waters to begin.

Alright, first Dutch arrival, and a corner.

I don't think Japan has touched the ball in the last two minutes.

Not a bad counter by Japan. I don't think that's how they can beat Holland, though.

Hey Netherlands you do not get points by having the most ball possession.

Right now possession is 80 - 20. At some point, Japan has to have something credible going forward. They can't withstand this kind of pressure for another 70'

And how did van Persie escape getting a yellow, based on the cards we've seen this this World Cup so far?

With this possession it seems a waste to have Van Persie alone up front.
