Match #25 Japan v. Costa Rica Al-Rayyan (Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium) Nov 27, 2022 1 pm - Qatar 10 am - London (GMT) 5 am - New York City 7 pm - Tokyo Please read the guidelines (your responsibility)
This looks to me the worst match of this World Cup so far. No intensity. Costa Rica are toothless. Japan are not going all out yet.
This result would be specially good for Germany who would have a realistic chance of going through even with a loss today.
Kaylor Navas! How the hell did Japan not score! Coming into this match... AFC v CONCACAF CONCACAF 6 wins AFC 1 win (1998 Iran 2-1 USA) draw 1 (2002 South Korea 1-1 USA) CONCACAF owns AFC.
Japan flips me out. Has Belgium on the ropes 2-0 in '18. Beats Germany '22. Loses to Costa Rica. It's entertaining... but wtf
While Japan is a better team than Costa Rica, still a draw would been a fair result today. But Costa Rica don't deserve 3p from 1 SOG and 4 attempts in total over 2 matches.
Gotta give Costa Rica some major props for showing up with some guts and getting the 3 points after such a horrible loss. Just like Iran did the other day. It is not easy to do that emotionally and mentally at all.
Best possible result for Germany tbh. If they can get at least a point against Spain today, I think they will fancy their chances of getting out of the group.
Yeah as much as I love an underdog story, those Belgium / Croatia vs Spain / Germany mathups in the round of 16 whatever order they wind up in is pretty mouthwatering I've got to admit it...
