No, but need to win vs Saudi Arabia and overturn bad goal difference.

    Nice goal by Messi.

The proverbial "goal that this game needed".. hopefully we see a more lively finish.

Essentially, if Mexico can't scrape something out of this game, then all their chances of advancing rest on beating Saudi Arabia.

The easiest combo is Mexico and Poland winning for Mexico to go through on points; a Mexico win + any other result means it comes down to GD and other tiebreakers as needed.

To me the penalty Ronaldo got was more of a fabrication.
I can see why the Ref called Messi's

Nobody should have expected anything else. Argentina just absolutely owns Mexico in Major tournaments,
And this might be Mexico's worst team in decades.
If they score more than one against the Saudis I would be surprised.

Never claimed otherwise. Top three fabricated pens:
    1. Ronaldo (imaginary penalty)
    2. Messi
    3. Lewandowski (missed)

This match showed that Messi cannot beat players anymore, just doesn't have the legs. Di Maria's still got it though. He was always the quicker of the two.

Not impressed by Argentina. Lack repertoire. Messi doesn't have legs anymore. Argentina played better in 2 half with Enzo Fernandez. Should start in the next match. Dybala deserved a chance in this WC too. But i dont think its enough.

Substitutions saved Argentina. Fernandez, Palacios and Alvarez drastically improved the passing and pressing. At least two of them should start next match, Fernandez for sure.

He had a disagreement with Martino and the coach banned him. It was even more surprising he didn't bring Santiago Giménez, who was in much, much better form than any of the strikers he called up.
