Yeah, no kidding. And anyone who questioned Maradona taking Tevez off is a moron.

    :D

The 2nd goal by Pipita was close to being off-side. But I'm of the belief that when in doubt you don't call it. Always give the offense the benefit of the doubt.

Is this only appearance #2, Thoma? It had to have made an appearance in the Deutschland - Oz match, right?

Some people need to read Law 11. None of the goals were remotely offside.

not a good score for South Korea. It means any sort of a victory for Nigeria will put them ahead in the table, meaning S.Korea will need to win their last match vs. Nigeria to go through....

According to soccernet, first Argentine World Cup hat trick since Batistuta in '98.

Yeah, sometimes the rules reward those who don't try, but what can you do? They need to beat Nigeria.

Explain to me how the second Higuain goal was not remotely close. When Messi strikes the ball and it hits the post, Higuain is VERY close to being in an offside position.

Korea got spanked because they played as equals against a stronger team. Same with Australia.

I still think they'll go through, and that the Aussies have a good chance.

It's good to see that Argentine posters are as good sports on the forums as they are in football. Sort of. Here's to hoping they get crushed like the children they are by Germany and try to start a fight with the superior team.

anyway, he was offsides. They finally got around to replaying it here with a freeze frame and greybar. But he was close enough it wasn't exactly obvious with everything else going on at the time. .

On the fourth goal the Korean defender (#12) was so tempted to deflect the ball with his hand as the ball was going into the goal.

Wouldn't be the first time if they did. Wasn't it the South Africa/Mexico match where the announcers themselves didn't know the offside rule?

Assuming a Nigeria win by one goal over Greece, if Korea gets one more goal they'd still have an advantage over Nigeria in case of a draw.

s.Korea should push forward for a second... it doesn't matter at this point if they lose 5,6,7.... 10-1... but if they can make it 4-2, a one goal win for Nigeria over Greece will leave them only needing a draw in the final match will leave them needing only a draw to go through....

Rewind and watch the replay. When Messi's shot hit the post, he was not in an offside position.

Not wild about South Korea resorting to diving to get a penalty while three goals down.

Yea they did, different crew though. Also, this is not one of those times. That goal was offsides but it wasn't a gimme call. Oh well, game over and Argentina deserves the win so it doesn't make much difference.
