You are redefining everything. East and West Asia have a great deal in common culturally and historically; certainly a lot more than let's say Canada with Peurto Rico or Jamaica have in common. Going based on culture, Australia would be best join Europe than Asia -- East or West. But I see some of the points you are making. IMO, it should be divided based on geographic proximity while promoting as much competition as possible.

Well, goodbye France, you really should have left it to the Irish. Now all I need to see is Portugal getting kicked in the ass by N.K and this WC will be awesome. ;)

How's this for preparation : The French show up in Knysna on 5 June from the tropics (ile de Reunion). The first match is in Cape Town and conditions are pleasant.

Instead of immediately moving camp to altitude, they go back to Knysna.

They play second round match against Mexico who don't even have to acclimate to playing at altitude or to nighttime freezing conditions.

The Mexicans kept running and running ...

Stop with the Irish. They have never been in position to be qualified.

I guess replying makes me a math geek :)

The average is for the last 12 months, with 4 years of results included overall.
Looking only at the World Cup, Mexico so far got 104.9125 points, as they will have at least 24 games in the last 12 months.
US - 37.389 (19 games) and with a win against Slovenia 139.626 points.

Where did you get 549 points from?

One of the worst coaching displays ive seen in my life....One of the worst team displays ive seen in my life. France looked like they WANTED to lose to make up for their controversial way of qualifying....

A complete lack of understanding of how it works. Looks like I need to go back and study some more. Thanks!

If Argentina win the WC that will mean CONMEBOLwill get a total of 6.5 slots as Argentina will automatically qualify correct?

There was no guarantee that Ireland would have defeated France in a shootout. The reason France is losing is they have no leader to compensate for the idiot coach.

New Zeland would not be here if Australia had not jumped to the Asian Confederation.

when mexico scored the first goal i started to panic thinking we would collapse under the upcoming french bombardment. minute by minute i waited for the french attack to begin but nothing happened. then i thought to myself, "are the french bunkering?" it was like france had given up with 30 minutes to go! i've never seen a team losing not only a game but their self-worth and still not do a damn thing about it. very perplexing

No, so far I know the champs don't automatically qualify since 2006.

Check this out. Apparently the whole French team is like rival cliques of middle school girls, and other sources say Anelka is being sent home even earlier than the rest of the French team:

The situation with Les Bleus is so dire that I doubt Blanc will be able to put order in the team unless he gets rid of all the players and starts from zero. Or almost.
